Chris Rann
Christopher Rann (born 31 December 1946 in London, England) is a publicist, media strategist and a specialist in global media and reputation management based in Adelaide, Australia. A former journalist, freelance foreign correspondent and broadcaster, Rann is the managing director of Rann Communication, a public relations firm with clients and projects in many parts of the world. He is the brother of the former Premier of South Australia, Mike Rann. Career history Rann began his journalistic career as a cadet reporter with the Matamata County Mail, a small country newspaper in New Zealand. Thomas Rann
Thomas Rann (born 10 December in Adelaide) is an Australian cellist. Thomas Rann commenced his cello studies at the age of 9 studying with Ruth Saffir and Niall Brown at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. He relocated to London in 2000 to study under cellist Raphael Wallfisch at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has since been under the mentorship of Israeli pedagogue Uzi Wiesel. Thomas Rann has performed as soloist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the Queensland Orchestra amongst others and as recitalist and chamber musician at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and Verbier Festival. Mary MacKillop
Mary Helen MacKillop RSJ (15 January 1842 – 8 August 1909) was an Australian religious sister who has been declared a saint by the Catholic Church, as St Mary of the Cross. Of Scottish descent, she was born in Melbourne but is best known for her activities in South Australia. Together with Julian Tenison-Woods, she founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart (the Josephites), a congregation of religious sisters that established a number of schools and welfare institutions throughout Australia and New Zealand, with an emphasis on education for the rural poor. The process to have MacKillop declared a saint began in the 1920s, and she was beatified in January 1995 by Pope John Paul II. Pope Benedict XVI prayed at her tomb during his visit to Sydney for World Youth Day 2008 and in December 2009 approved the Catholic Church's recognition of a second miracle attributed to her intercession. Adelaide Zoo
Adelaide Zoo is Australia's second oldest zoo (after Melbourne Zoo), and it is operated on a non-profit basis. It is located in the parklands just north of the city centre of Adelaide, South Australia. It is administered by the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia Incorporated (trading as Zoos South Australia or Zoos SA), which is a full institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), and which also administers the Monarto Safari Park near Murray Bridge. Orlando Wines is an Australian wine company, well known for Jacob's Creek wine, first released in 1976. The company has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Pernod Ricard since 1989 and is now known as Pernod Ricard Winemakers. The winery still operates in the small township of Rowland Flat, between Lyndoch and Tanunda, in South Australia's Barossa Valley wine-growing region. History In 1847 Bavarian immigrant Johann Gramp planted his first grape vines on the banks of the then recently named Jacob's Creek. Carl XVI Gustaf
Carl XVI Gustaf (Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus; born 30 April 1946) is King of Sweden. He ascended the throne on the death of his grandfather, Gustaf VI Adolf, on 15 September 1973. He is the youngest child and only son of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten, and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. His father died on 26 January 1947 in an airplane crash in Denmark when Carl Gustaf was nine months old. Upon his father's death, he became second in line to the throne, after his grandfather, the then Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf. The 1998 Commonwealth Games ''(Malay: Sukan Komanwel 1998)'', officially known as the XVI Commonwealth Games ''(Malay: Sukan Komanwel ke-16)'', was a multi-sport event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
