River City
''River City'' is a Scottish television soap opera that was first broadcast on BBC One Scotland on 24 September 2002. ''River City'' follows the lives of the people who live and work in the fictional district of Shieldinch. In November 2017, a short crossover episode of the show was made for '' Children in Need'' and featured several of the show's characters meeting characters from Scottish sitcom ''Scot Squad''. In March 2020, production of ''River City'' was halted due to the COVID–19 pandemic, and filming recommenced in August 2020. Chris Quick (born 2 August 1988) is a Scottish editor and producer of independent films. His editing credits includes ''Autumn Never Dies'', ''In Search of La Che'', ''Mountain'' and ''The Greyness of Autumn'' which also marked his directorial debut. In July 2019, he became the director of the Glasgow Filmmakers Alliance Career Quick Off The Mark Productions (2009 to 2016) Originally starting in theatre, Quick made the move to video editing in 2007 when he studied television production at the Glasgow Metropolitan College (now City of Glasgow College). It is here that he first met Mark D. Ferguson and Andy S. McEwan and formed a close working relationship with the pair. After graduating in 2009, he co-founded Quick Off The Mark Productions with Ferguson and began working in corporate advertising videos. The British Academy Scotland New Talent Awards are presented at an annual award ceremony organised by BAFTA Scotland. History In 2009, BAFTA Scotland held the very first British Academy Scotland New Talent Awards. The annual awards ceremony recognises, inspires and celebrates emerging practitioners from all over Scotland and gives up-and-coming talent a platform to showcase their work to industry.
