Chris Chong Chan Fui
Chris Chong Chan Fui is a Malaysian artist and filmmaker, who has worked in both Malaysia and Canada.Eric Volmers, "Karaoke a 'gutsy' maverick winner". ''Calgary Herald'', October 5, 2009. He is most noted for his short films ''Pool (Kolam)'', which won the Toronto International Film Festival Award for Best Canadian Short Film at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival, and ''Block B'', which won the same award at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival. Both films were also named to TIFF's annual year-end Canada's Top Ten list of the year's best Canadian short films in their respective years. Originally from Borneo, Chong lived and worked in Canada for a number of years after attending the University of Calgary as an international student. Tag Image File Format, abbreviated TIFF or TIF, is an image file format for storing raster graphics images, popular among graphic artists, the publishing industry, and photographers. The Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) is a film festival held annually in Calgary, Alberta, in late September and early October. CIFF is the largest international film festival in Alberta and the sixth largest in Canada. The 62nd Cannes Film Festival was held from 13 May to 24 May 2009. French actress Isabelle Huppert was the President of the Jury. Twenty films from thirteen countries were selected to compete for the Palme d'Or. The awards were announced on 23 May. The Directors' Fortnight (french: Quinzaine des Réalisateurs) is an independent selection of the Cannes Film Festival.
