Chong Ka Yan
Chong Ka-yan (born 24 November 1993) is a Hong Kong rugby union and sevens player. She competed for Hong Kong at the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup in Ireland. Rugby career Sevens career Chong made her sevens debut for Hong Kong at the Qingdao leg of the 2015 Asia Rugby Women's Sevens Series. She competed in the 2019 Hong Kong Sevens which was a qualifier for the 2019–20 Sevens Series, she scored a try in her sides loss to Papua New Guinea. In 2021, she was part of the Hong Kong sevens side that competed at the repechage tournament in Monaco. She featured for Hong Kong in the Montevideo leg of the 2024 Sevens Challenger Series; she scored a hat-trick in her sides seventh place win over Kenya. She was then named in the squad for the 2024 Hong Kong Sevens to compete in the Melrose Claymore challenge. She helped her side beat China in the first match when she crossed the try-line. 2024 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series – Women's Tour
The 2024 Challenger Series for women's rugby sevens teams is the third season of the second-tier circuit that allows a promotion pathway to the SVNS. The women's challenger tour has twelve national teams competing and will be played as three tournaments in Dubai, Montevideo and Kraków. Japan Women's National Rugby Union Team
The Japan women's national rugby union team (, nicknamed Sakura Fifteen) are a national sporting side of Japan, representing them at rugby union. The side first played in 1991. History Japan made their international debut at the 1991 Women's Rugby World Cup. Since then, Japan has appeared at three other editions of the World Cup in 1994, 2002 and 2017. The team has won the Asia Rugby Women's Championship in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Japan qualified for the 2021 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand after a revision of Asia's qualification was made due to the global pandemic. As Asia's highest ranked team they qualified automatically for the tournament. In November 2021, Japan toured Europe and played test matches against Ireland, Scotland and Wales. 2024 Asia Rugby Women's Championship
The 2024 Asia Rugby Women's Championship will be the 13th edition of the Asia Rugby Women's Championship, it will take place from 22 May to 1 June 2024 and will be hosted in Hong Kong. The champion will qualify for the 2024 WXV 2 and the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup tournaments. The runner-up will qualify for the 2024 WXV 3 and will have a chance of qualifying for the 2025 World Cup as the remaining six places will be awarded to the highest-finishing teams in WXV who have not qualified through the 2021 Rugby World Cup and the regional tournaments. Kazakhstan Women's National Rugby Union Team
The Kazakhstan women's national rugby union team is nicknamed ''the Nomads''. It is controlled by the Kazakhstan Rugby Union. History Kazakhstan has competed in six Rugby World Cups between 1994 and 2014. They won the 2014 Asian Four Nations Championship in Hong Kong. Up to 2019, Kazakhstan had only played four international matches since the 2014 World Cup. They defeated China in the 2019 Asia Rugby Women's Championship Division 1 competition and qualified for the 2020 Asia Rugby Women's Championship. The 2020 Asia Rugby Women's Championship was postponed twice before it was cancelled altogether. The Nomads were left to play Hong Kong who later withdrew due to challenges caused by COVID-19.
