Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) ( bn, চট্টগ্রাম ভেটেরিনারি ও এনিম্যাল সাইন্সেস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a public university in Bangladesh. It is the only specialised veterinary university in Bangladesh. It is located at Khulshi, Chattogram. The chancellor of the university is president Abdul Hamid. Generally, the public universities in Bangladesh offer degree on department. Like every other agricultural university in Bangladesh, CVASU offers degree on faculty. The fifth Annual Scientific Conference of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University was held in 2007. Ekushey Padak ( bn, একুশে পদক; lit. "Twentyfirst Award") is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, education, and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award. The award consists of an 18 carat gold medal weighing 3 tolas and a certificate of honour. The medal was designed by the artist Nitun Kundu. The amount of the cash reward was originally ৳ 25,000, but it was subsequently increased to ৳ 100,000 in 2015. Next it was increased to tk 2,00,000 in 2017 and to tk 4,00,000 as of November 2019. President Abdul Hamid appointed him for a second term of fours years which started on 8 December 2018. Biography Das was born in Chandpur district, Bangladesh. His mother's name is Sabitri Rani Das. And his father's name is Swadesh Ranjan Das. Das attended Chandpur Government College. He received an honors degree on animal husbandry from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 1985.
