Malkangiri District
Malkangiri district is the southwesternmost district in the Indian state of Odisha. It has two Vidhan sabha constituencies. History Local legend claims Valmiki wrote the Ramayana on the banks of the Tamasa river. The region was known as ''Malyavantagiri'' in the Ramayana, and it was believed ''Sitakunda'' was the bathing-place of Sita, near Mudulipada. Local legend claims the Pandavas spent a year in exile in the dense forests of Malkangiri. Kanamraju, Balaraju and Poturaju are the three famous Lords of this area, who are being worshiped by the people. Dambaru Sisa (Odia: ଡମ୍ବରୁ ସୀସା) is an Indian politician, social worker and first Bonda Member of Chitrakonda. Early life and education Sisa is born to a Bonda family on 28 March 1980 at the village Khuriguda, Malkangiri district, Odisha. Sisa earned his Bachelor of Science with Mathematics Honours from DAV College, Koraput. Later he did post graduation studies in Math (MSc. Math) and Law (LLM). Balimela
Balimela is a town and a notified area committee in Malkangiri district in the Indian state of Odisha. It has several tribes and culture. Odia is local language here. However, because of multiculturalism people also speak Bengali and Telugu. The name Balimela came into being after Ramayana era. It is believed that Bali was killed by Lord Rama here. The 2009 Odisha Legislative Assembly election took place in April 2009, concurrently with the general election. The elections were held in the state in two phases. Janata Party
The Janata Party ( JP, lit. ''People's Party'') was a political party that was founded as an amalgam of Indian political parties opposed to the Emergency that was imposed between 1975 and 1977 by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of the Indian National Congress. In the 1977 general election, the party defeated the Congress and Janata leader Morarji Desai became the first non-Congress prime minister in independent modern India's history. Raj Narain, a socialist leader, had filed a legal writ alleging electoral malpractice against Indira Gandhi in 1971. On 12 June 1975, Allahabad High Court found her guilty of using corrupt electoral practices in her 1971 election victory over Narain in the Rae Bareli constituency.
