China–Gabon Relations
China–Gabon relations refer to the foreign relations between China and Gabon. On December 9, 1960, China (as the Republic of China in Taipei) established diplomatic relations with Gabon. Gabon has switched recognition to the People's Republic of China in Beijing on April 20, 1974. Gabon adheres to the One China policy where it recognizes the PRC as the sole legitimate government of China and does not recognize the legitimacy of the ROC. Chinese development finance to Gabon From 2000 to 2011, there are approximately 25 Chinese official development finance projects identified in Gabon through various media reports. These projects range from extending a concessionary loan of $83.1 million to fund the Grand Poubara Dam in 2008, to the construction of the Stade de l’Amitié, also known as the ‘friendship stadium'. Concessionary Loan

Grand Poubara Dam
The Grand Poubara Dam is a gravity dam on the Ogooué River, about south of Franceville in Gabon. The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power generation, and it supports a power station. History The government of Gabon signed a $84 million loan with China in 2008 to finance the construction of the dam. The goal was to develop an alternative power source to the Kongou Falls Dam for the iron ore extraction sites also operated by the Chinese in Belinga. Construction on the project began in November 2008, the river was diverted in November 2010, and the power station was commissioned on 5 August 2013. The dam diverts the river around the Poubara Falls where four Francis turbine-generators are powered. Stade D'Angondjé
The Stade de l’Amitié sino-gabonaise is a stadium in Angondjé, a suburb of Libreville in Gabon. It is referred to as Stade de l'Amitié. The stadium build was expected to take 20 months and was funded by the Gabonese and Chinese governments. It was one of four stadiums used for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations and hosted the competition final. The inaugural football match played here was Gabon facing off against Brazil. Brazil won that match 2–0. The symbolic laying of the foundation stone was made by the Gabonese Sports Minister Rene Ndemezo’Obiang and the Chinese Vice Minister Fu Ziying in April 2010. The Hong Kong national security law, officially the Law of the People's Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is a piece of national security legislation concerning Hong Kong.
