The Shaoshan 4 (Chinese: 韶山4) is a type of electric locomotive used on the People's Republic of China's national railway system. This locomotive was built by the Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Works. The power supply was industrial-frequency single-phase AC, and the axle arrangement Bo′Bo′+Bo′Bo′. In 1993, Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Works produced SS4G (Chinese: 韶4改). SS4G are very similar to standard SS4, apart from an improved electrical technology. SS4 Electric Locomotive is an eight shaft fixing reconnection heavy freight electric locomotive which based on two four-axle locomotives connected. One unit, SS4-0043, was damaged in a tunnel during the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. CRRC Datong Co. Ltd. () is a Chinese railway locomotive manufacturing plant based in Datong, Shanxi, China, founded 1953. The factory was a major producer of steam locomotives for the Chinese market up to 1988 when production switched to diesel powered locomotives. By the 1990s electric locomotives had begun to be produced, and became the major product of the works. In 2003 the factory became CNR Datong Electric Locomotive Co. Ltd. The Shaoshan 1 ( Nickname: ) is a type of AC-powered electric locomotive used by China Railway. This locomotive was the first Chinese electric main line locomotive, built by the Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Works with the assistance of the Soviet Union and following the design of the Soviet-H60 electric locomotive (SŽD VL60). The power supply was industrial-frequency single-phase AC, and the axle arrangement Co-Co. History The first prototype locomotive, 6Y1-001, which used an ignitron-controlled rectifier, was produced in 1958. A further 6 prototypes (002 to 007) were produced between 1962 and 1966. The China Railway Museum () is a Chinese museum preserving locomotives that have operated on the railways of the People's Republic of China. The museum offers a total exhibition space of 16500m² and 8 exhibition tracks. Zhu De (; ; also Chu Teh; 1 December 1886 – 6 July 1976) was a Chinese general, military strategist, politician and revolutionary in the Chinese Communist Party.
