The China Railway Engineering Corporation (CRECG) is a state-owned holding company of China, which is under the supervision of the State Council. The company is the major shareholder of China Railway Group Limited (CREC), its subsidiary. History The history of the company could be traced back to 1950 which two bureaus of the Ministry of Railways were formed ( and ). In 1958, the design bureau and the construction bureau were merged to form the General Bureau of Capital Construction of the Ministry of Railways (). From 1950 to 1990, the General Bureau was a government agency for many railway construction as well as highway bridge. Rail Transport In Cambodia
Cambodia has of metre gauge rail network, consisting of two lines: one from the capital Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, and another from Phnom Penh to Poipet on the Thai border. The lines were originally constructed during the time when the country was part of French Indochina, but due to neglect and damage from civil war during the latter half of the 20th century, the railways were in a dilapidated state and all services had been suspended by 2009. Kampot ( km, ក្រុងកំពត) is a city in southern Cambodia and the capital of Kampot Province. It is on the Praek Tuek Chhu River southeast of the Elephant Mountains and around from the Gulf of Thailand. Doun Kaev ( km, ដូនកែវ ; lit. "Crystal Grandmother") is the capital of Takéo Province, Cambodia. In 1998 it had a population of 39,186.
