Chimaira (album)
''Chimaira'' is the third studio album by Chimaira, released on August 9, 2005. It debuted No. 74 on the ''Billboard'' 200 charts and sold 14,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release (according to Nielsen SoundScan). The album would be the band's final release under Roadrunner Records and the only one to feature Kevin Talley on drums. Production ''Chimaira'' would mark further progression in heaviness. Band member Chris Spicuzza described the album as "the next natural step from '' Impossibility of Reason'' . . . definitely more brutal." He noted its deemphasise on melodic tracks, alluding to the 2003 song "Down Again", and described the writing process as having "zero limitations". All lyrics were written by vocalist Mark Hunter. The opening track "Nothing Remains" was written on the day that Dimebag Darrell was shot, but was not written specifically about his death. Chimaira () is an American heavy metal band from Cleveland, Ohio. Formed in August 1998, the group was a member of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal scene. The band's name is derived from the word Chimera, a monstrous creature in Greek mythology. Throughout its history, the band had numerous line-up changes, leaving vocalist Mark Hunter as the only constant member. The band dissolved in 2014, but announced a one-off reunion in late 2017 wherein most of the group's longtime members rejoined. History Early days (1998–1999) Prior to Chimaira, vocalist Mark Hunter and bassist Jim LaMarca were part of a previous band known as Skipline, which lasted 2 years from 1996 to 1998. The Dehumanizing Process
The discography of American heavy metal band Chimaira consists of seven studio albums, two extended plays, eleven singles, two video albums and thirteen music videos. Chimaira originated in Cleveland, Ohio, composed of vocalist Mark Hunter, guitarists Jason Hager and Rob Arnold, bassist Jim LaMarca, drummer Andols Herrick and programmer Chris Spicuzza. Hager was replaced by Matt DeVries in 2001. Chimaira's first release was an extended play, ''This Present Darkness'', which sold 10,000 copies. After signing to Roadrunner Records, the band's debut studio album, '' Pass Out of Existence'', was released in August 2001. A second studio album, '' The Impossibility of Reason'', followed in 2003, debuting and peaking at number 117 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Herrick was replaced by drummer Kevin Talley, formerly of Misery Index, in 2004. Ben Schigel
Switched (previously depicted as Sw1tched) was a nu metal band from Cleveland, Ohio. History Forming in 1999 as Sw1tch, the band played shows around Ohio and released a demo entitled ''Fuckin' Demo''. The songs "Anymore", "Wrongside", "Inside", "Darkening Days", "Last Chance", and "Skins", which appear in their demo versions on this CD, went on to appear on the '' Subject to Change'' album. This demo was later re-released on disc two of the "Ghosts in the Machine" album in 2006. Since a funk band already had rights to the name Switch, the band had to change their name to Sw1tched, and was later signed to Immortal/Virgin Records. After recording all of the bass for the '' Subject to Change'' album, bassist Shawn May left the band for unknown reasons, and was replaced by Chimaira drum tech Jason French.
