Chilocorus Bipustulatus
''Chilocorus bipustulatus'', the heather ladybird, is a beetle species belonging to the family Coccinellidae, subfamily Chilocorinae. These beetles are found in most of the Palearctic realm, (Europe, North Africa, Asia north of the Himalayan foothills, and northern and central Arabian Peninsula), and has been introduced to tropical Africa, Hawaii, and North America. The elytra of this small beetle are a shiny brown with two reddish-orange spots on each elytron (hence the Latin word ', meaning two-blistered). Sometime three spots run in an horizontal line and join into two larger stains. The mature larva is about long. Wintering occurs as an adult. The adults grow up to long and can be encountered from May through October. In Europe it occurs in fruit gardens, pine forests, and stone quarries. In Poland it was found on grasses, low vegetation and bushes, on heath lands, under flakes of bark on pines and fruit trees, occasionally in leaf litter and in mossBurakowski, B., Mro ...

Chilocorus Stigma
''Chilocorus stigma'', commonly known as the twice-stabbed ladybug, is a native resident of the United States and Canada but does not live west of the Sierra Nevada.. It also has been introduced to Hawaii. It is shiny black, and there is one red spot on each elytron. The remainder of the body is black as well, but the abdomen is either yellow or red. It is sometimes confused with the "two-stabbed lady beetle", ''Chilocorus orbus'', which is widespread in California. Habitat and pests eaten ''C. stigma'' mainly lives within terrestrial/arboreal habitats, primarily feeding on aphids found in these habitats as well as scales (such as pine needle scale, beech bark scale and Florida red scale) and mealybugs. It is a beneficial insect, and is useful in both natural wood stands and commercial forests such as orchards and citrus groves. It is beneficial against non native species. An introduced Hemlock pest, the elongate hemlock scale (''Fiorinia externa'' Ferris), which has been doing ...

Chilocorus Orbus
''Chilocorus orbus'' is a species of lady beetle in the family Coccinellidae. It is native to North America. It is a black, domed beetle with two large red spots and is commonly called the twice-stabbed lady beetle. Both adults and larvae feed on scale insects. Description The adult ''Chilocorus orbus'' is a dome-shaped beetle some long with club-shaped antennae. The shiny black elytra bear two oval red patches and the ventral surface of the beetle is reddish. There are other species of black-with-red-spots lady beetle with which this insect might be confused, these being '' Axion plagiatum'', '' Chilocorus kuwanae'', and '' Olla v-nigrum'', however in ''Chilocorus orbus'', the red patches are nearer the head than they are in the other species. The larvae resemble miniature alligators, have long legs and are grey or blackish; they have elongated bodies covered with branching spines. The pupae are also blackish and spiny, but are broader and shorter than the larvae. Distributio ...
