Richard Davis Thunderbird (August 6, 1866 – April 6, 1946) was a Native American actor of Cheyenne descent known as Chief Thunderbird. He appeared in twenty films but was credited only in major films such as ''Wild West Days'' (1937), ''For the Service'' (1936), ''Silly Billies'' (1936), ''Custer's Last Stand'' (1936), ''Annie Oakley'' (1935), ''Cyclone of the Saddle'' (1935), '' Laughing Boy'' (1934), and '' Heroes of the West'' (1932). Career Thunderbird was born on August 6, 1866, near Tongue River, Montana, and attended the Carlisle Indian School. Thunderbird made his first appearance in a film in 1914. He played an Indian (an uncredited role) in the film '' The Perils of Pauline''. ''Battling with Buffalo Bill'' is a 1931 American pre-Code Western serial film directed by Ray Taylor and starring Tom Tyler, Lucile Browne, William Desmond, Rex Bell, and Francis Ford. Based on the book ''The Great West That Was'' by William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, the film is about a cowboy named Buffalo Bill who goes up against a shady gambler who is attempting to scare off the townspeople so he can gain possession of a gold strike. Rain-in-the-Face (Lakota: Ité Omáǧažu in Standard Lakota Orthography) (c. 1835 – September 15, 1905) was a warchief of the Lakota tribe of Native Americans. His mother was a Dakota related to the band of famous Chief Inkpaduta. He participated in 1876 in the Battle of Little Big Horn that defeated the U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment under Lt.
