''Chhalia'' is a 1973 Hindi-language Indian feature film directed by Mukul Dutt and starring Navin Nischol, Nanda, Shatrughan Sinha, Rajendra Nath and Helen. Chhalia
''Chhalia'' is a 1960 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Manmohan Desai. It stars Raj Kapoor, Nutan, Pran, Rehman and Shobhna Samarth. The story is loosely based on the 1848 short story "White Nights" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, but is focused on the issue of estranged wives and children in the aftermath of Partition. Chhalia was shot in black-and-white. Music by Kalyanji-Anandji, played a part in the film's box office success. Plot Shanti (Nutan) is married off to Kewal (Rehman) on the eve of Partition. Navin Nischol
Navin Nischol (18 March 1946 – 19 March 2011) was an Indian actor. He made his debut with the Hindi film ''Sawan Bhadon'' in 1970. In 1996 he worked in Pyar Zindagi Hai along with Rita Bhaduri and Raj Mohammed. The film was shot in Hyderabad. Early life Navin Nischol studied in Bangalore Military School, Bangalore, erstwhile King George Royal India Military College, Bangalore. He was the first gold medalist from the Film and Television Institute of India to make it big.
