Nirmal Chettri (born 21 October 1990 in Melli, Sikkim) is an Indian footballer who plays mainly as a defender and last played for Southern Samity in the Calcutta Football League. Career Early career Chettri began his footballing career in 2000 with Namchi Sports Hostel after being discovered in the Sikkim governments ''Search for More Bhaichung's'' campaign (In reference to then India striker and Sikkimese-born Baichung Bhutia). In 2002 Chettri played for Namchi in the Subroto Cup where he led the team to the final, only to lose to Mizoram 1–2. He then represented Namchi in the Interreligious Peace Sports Festival in South Korea in 2004. In that same year he represented Namchi in the Chief Minister Gold Cup. Rohit John Chettri, also known as RJC, is a singer, musician, music producer, lyricist and guitarist from Kathmandu. Early life Chettri's father was a music lover, and they used to play musical instruments like guitar and harmonium together when his father would come back home in the evening after work. Bipul Chettri is an Indian singer-songwriter who sings in the Nepali language and plays Himalayan folk music with a contemporary touch. Bharat Kumar Chettri (born 15 December 1981 in Kalimpong, West Bengal) is an Indian field hockey player. He is the goalkeeper of the Indian hockey team. Career Chettri's professional career in field hockey began after he joined the Sports Authority of India's Centre of Excellence in Bangalore in 1998. He made his debut in international hockey in 2001 playing in the Prime Minister's Gold Cup tournament in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was first appointed the captain of the Indian national team in October 2011 for the four-nation Super Series and an international tournament in Australia. Lil Bahadur Chettri () is an Indian writer in the Nepali language from Assam, India. He is a recipient of Sahitya Academy Award for his book ''Brahmaputrako Chheu Chhau''. His other book ''Basain'' is a story of poor villagers who undergo suffering due to the exploitation of the feudal and so-called upper class of the society. It is included in the curriculum of Tribhuwan University, Nepal. In 2016, he was honoured with Jagadamba Shree Purasakar for his contribution to the Nepali literature and language. Mani Kumar Chetri (born 23 May 1920) is an Indian cardiologist, a former director of West Bengal State Health Services and a former director of the IPGMER and SSKM Hospital, Kolkata. He is an elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences and a recipient of the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri from the Government of India in 1974.
