Chester Street is a street in central London's Belgravia district. It runs south-west to north-east from Upper Belgrave Street to Grosvenor Place. The poet Algernon Charles Swinburne was born at no 7 in 1837, the eldest of six children of Captain (later Admiral) Charles Henry Swinburne (1797–1877) and Lady Jane Henrietta, daughter of the George Ashburnham, 3rd Earl of Ashburnham. Belgravia
Belgravia () is a Districts of London, district in Central London, covering parts of the areas of both the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Belgravia was known as the 'Five Fields' Tudor Period, during the Tudor Period, and became a dangerous place due to Highwayman, highwaymen and robberies. Algernon Charles Swinburne (5 April 1837 – 10 April 1909) was an English poet, playwright, novelist, and critic. He wrote several novels and collections of poetry such as ''Poems and Ballads'', and contributed to the famous Eleventh Edition of the ''Encyclopædia Britannica''. George Ashburnham, 3rd Earl Of Ashburnham
George Ashburnham, 3rd Earl of Ashburnham, KG, GCH, FSA (25 December 1760 – 27 October 1830) was a British peer. He was the son of the 2nd Earl of Ashburnham and the former Elizabeth Crowley, being styled Viscount St Asaph from birth, and was baptised on 29 January 1761 at St George's, Hanover Square, London, with King George III, the Duke of Newcastle and the Dowager Princess of Wales as his godparents. In 1780, Lord St Asaph graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, with a Master of Arts degree. Alexander Perceval
Colonel Alexander Perceval (1787 – 9 December 1858) was an Irish politician. He was the eldest surviving son of Rev. Philip Perceval of Temple House, Ballymote, Sligo. He succeeded his father in 1800. He sat in the House of Commons for Sligo County from 1831 to 1841, when his growing financial difficulties compelled him to resign his seat. He served briefly as a Junior Lord of the Treasury in Sir Robert Peel's second government (1841). He was Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Lords from 1841 until his death. He died at Chester Street, London, on 9 December 1858 and was buried at West Norwood Cemetery. He had married Jane Anne, the daughter of Col. George Macaulay Booth (22 September 1877 - 10 March 1971) was a British businessman, and a director of the Bank of England. George Macaulay Booth was born on 22 September 1877 in London, the son of the social reformer Charles Booth and his wife Mary Catherine Macaulay. Frederick Yeates Hurlstone
Frederick Yeates Hurlstone (1800 – 10 June 1869) was an English portrait and historical painter. Life Hurlstone was born in London in 1800, the eldest son by his second marriage of Thomas Y. Hurlstone, one of the proprietors of ''The Morning Chronicle'' (his great-uncle, Richard Hurleston, was a student of Joseph Wright of Derby). He began life in the office of his father's journal, but, while still very young, became a pupil of Sir William Beechey, afterwards studying under Sir Thomas Lawrence, and Benjamin Haydon. His first paid work was an altar-piece, painted in 1816, for which he received 20 pounds. In 1820 he was admitted as a student of the Royal Academy, where in 1822 he gained the silver medal for the best copy made in the school of painting, and in 1823 the gold medal for historical painting, the subject being ''The Contention between the Archangel Michael and Satan for the Body of Moses''. John Godley, 3rd Baron Kilbracken
The Rt Hon. John Raymond Godley, 3rd Baron Kilbracken, DSC (17 October 1920 – 14 August 2006), was a British-born, later Irish-resident peer, wartime naval pilot, journalist, author and farmer. He was the son of The 2nd Baron Kilbracken; his grandfather, Arthur Godley, 1st Baron Kilbracken, was William Ewart Gladstone's private secretary. He became the third Baron Kilbracken on his father's death in October 1950, and became an active member of the House of Lords.
