Cheshire Premier Cup
The Cheshire Premier Cup was a football knockout tournament that took place within the English county of Cheshire between the Cheshire clubs that were at the time in The Football League. It was run by the local Cheshire FA. The tournament first began during the 2008-09 season, but a previous competition of the same name ran until 1981-82 with Tranmere Rovers having been the last winners. That competition was often played in pre-season using either a knockout or round robin format between the county's Football League clubs. That competition was also previously known as the Cheshire Bowl. Every competition final following the competition's revival went to extra-time, most recently with Stockport County taking the cup after a 4-3 penalty shoot-out victory over two-time champions Crewe Alexandra at Edgeley Park in 2011. Crewe Alexandra
Crewe Alexandra Football Club is an English professional association football club based in the town of Crewe, Cheshire, that competes in League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system. Gresty Road or the Alexandra Stadium, currently known as the Mornflake Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in Crewe, Cheshire, England. The home ground of Crewe Alexandra, it has an all-seated capacity of 10,153. Macclesfield Town Football Club was an English professional association football, football club based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, that was liquidation, wound-up after a High Court of Justice, High Court ruling on 16 September 2020. Initially known as Macclesfield F.C., the club was formed in 1874 and from 1891 played home games at Moss Rose. Macclesfield Town F
Macclesfield is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. It is located on the River Bollin in the east of the county, on the edge of the Cheshire Plain, with Macclesfield Forest to its east; it is south of Manchester and east of Chester. Edgeley Park is a football stadium in Edgeley, Stockport, England. Built for rugby league club Stockport RFC in 1891, by 1903, the rugby club was defunct and Stockport County Football Club moved in.
