Chengdu Sport University
Chengdu Sport University () is a sports university in the southwest of the downtown district of Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The university is administered by the national State General Administration of Sports and the Sichuan provincial government. The Hang Kong Gang Campus is about from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. Chengdu Sport University was founded in 1942. In 1953, the fully-established system was transformed into the Southwest Institute of Sports. In 1956, it was changed to Chengdu Sports University. It is the most famous kinesiology university in southwest China, as well as one of the top five of the kind. It has a reputation from sports, such as gymnastics, martial art and weightlifting, and is recognized as an established authority in sports medicine and the application of T.C.M. in prevention, therapy and recovery of sports injuries and fatigue. James Li
James Li (born ) is a Chinese-American athletics coach at the University of Arizona. His teams have won 12 national championships. He is known for his work with international runners, including from Kenya and Sudan. Successful runners he has coached include Stephen Sambu, Lawi Lalang. and Bernard Lagat. Li has been at Arizona for 15 years as of 2018. Before that he spent 13 years at Washington State University. As of 2021 Li has retired from his position as coach at Arizona. He is currently the Head Coach for E-House Marathon Club in Shanghai, China Li was born in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China. He was a middle-distance runner at the Beijing Institute of Physical Education, winning the Chinese Collegiate 800-meter title in 1979. The 2008 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XXIX Olympiad () and also known as Beijing 2008 (), were an international multisport event held from 8 to 24 August 2008, in Beijing, China. Wuhou Shrine
Wuhou District () is one of 12 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, Southwest China. It contains the historic site, Wuhou Temple and Jinli Street. The district is bordered by Jinjiang District to the east, Shuangliu County to the south and west, and Qingyang District to the north. Wuhou District is the largest of the five internal districts of Chengdu as well as being the wealthiest. It contains the areas of Yulin and Shuangnan which are considered to be the two areas of Chengdu with the highest living standards. The name "Wuhou" is short for "Wu-Xiang Hou" (), which is an honorary title given to Zhuge Liang who lived in Chengdu when he served as the chancellor in the Shu Han kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period. Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. Southwest China () is a region in the south of the People's Republic of China.
