Chen Siyi
Chen Siyi () is an elite Chinese gymnast. She trains at the National Training Center in Beijing. She's coached by Xiong Jingbin and Zhang Xia, who also coached Deng Linlin and Jiang Yuyuan. Her best events are uneven bars and balance beam. Junior career Chen competed in the Junior Nationals in 2010, where she placed tenth on vault. At the Individual Nationals, she had a sixth-place finish on bars. At the Élite Gym Massilia in the fall, where she made her international debut, she won gold on bars, silver in AA and placed fourth on beam, despite a fall. In January, she competed at the Australian Olympic Youth Festival with three other Chinese juniors. She won gold with the team and silver on balance beam. In September, she competed at the Chinese National Games, placing sixth with her team and eighteenth in the all-around. Shang Chunsong
Shang Chunsong (; born 18 March 1996) is a senior elite Chinese artistic gymnast. She represented China at the 2013, 2014, and 2015 World Championships and was a member of the Chinese silver-medal-winning teams at the latter two events. Shang was the captain of the bronze-medal-winning team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she placed 4th in the individual all-around competition. Domestically, she is the 2015 and 2016 Chinese national all-around champion. Personal life Shang was born on 18 March 1996. She grew up in a very poor family, and she was malnourished as a child. Both of Shang's parents are construction workers in Changsha. She has a brother who has a visual impairment, and her biggest hope is to earn enough money to cure her brother's eyesight. Gymnastics Floor
In gymnastics, the floor is a specially prepared exercise surface, which is considered an apparatus. It is used by both male and female gymnasts. The gymnastics event performed on the floor is called floor exercise. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is FX. A spring floor is used in all of gymnastics to provide more bounce, and also help prevent potential injuries to lower extremity joints of gymnasts due to the nature of the apparatus, which includes the repeated pounding required to train it. Cheerleading also uses spring floors for practice. The sprung floor used for indoor athletics, however, is designed to reduce bounce. Gymnastics Balance Beam
The balance beam is a rectangular artistic gymnastics apparatus and an event performed using the apparatus. Both the apparatus and the event are sometimes simply referred to as "beam". The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is BB. The beam is a small, thin beam which is typically raised from the floor on a leg or stand at both ends. The uneven bars or asymmetric bars is an artistic gymnastics apparatus. It is made of a steel frame. The bars are made of fiberglass with wood coating, or less commonly wood.
