Chen Chih-peng
Chen Chih-peng (; born 15 January 1981 in Taiwan) is a former Taiwanese baseball player who played for the Brother Elephants of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) as an outfielder. He was with the Macoto Cobras and dmedia T-REX before playing for the Elephants. At the end of 2008, dmedia T-REX was disbanded and he was picked up by the Elephants in the fourth round of the redistribution draft. Left field is the area of the outfield to the left of a person standing at home plate and facing towards the pitcher's mound. Chinese Professional Baseball League
The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL; ) is the top-tier professional baseball league in Taiwan. The league was established in 1989 and played the first season in 1990. CPBL eventually absorbed the competing Taiwan Major League in 2003. As of the 2023 season, the CPBL consists of six organizations, all of which have teams in the main league and farm league. In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. A run batted in (RBI; plural RBIs ) is a statistic in baseball and softball that credits a batter for making a play that allows a run to be scored (except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play). For example, if the batter bats a base hit which allows a teammate on a higher base to reach home and so score a run, then the batter gets credited with an RBI. Dmedia T-REX
The dmedia T-REX (米迪亞暴龍) was a professional baseball team belonging to the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). History The history of the team can be traced back to early 2001, when local Macoto Bank started to sponsor Taiwan Major League's (TML) Taipei Gida, taking over from the original sponsor Sampo Corporation. After TML's merger with CPBL in early 2003, Macoto Bank decided to run one of the 2 absorbed TML teams and the new team Macoto Gida (誠泰太陽) was formed accordingly along with its sister team First Financial Holdings Agan. During the merger draft Macoto Bank picked the bulk of Macoto Gida's players from Taichung Agan and Chiayi-Tainan Luka, but not the original Taipei Gida. Macoto Bank went on running and changed the team's mascot to animal-style cobras following CPBL's regulations in early 2004. Chen Chih-yuan (; born October 27, 1976 in Taoyuan County, Taiwan) is a Taiwanese aborigine (tribe: Amis) former professional baseball player (position: outfielder). Career A well-known slugger since college era in the Fu Jen Catholic University, Chen had been a frequent member of the Chinese Taipei national baseball team between 1997 and 2004, participating the 2004 Summer Olympics in which he hit a home run in the match against Greece. In professional career, Chen joined the Brother Elephants of CPBL in mid-2001 and had been a bright star of the team. After the 2009 CPBL season Chen had been under investigation for game-fixing allegations. Although Chen denied any wrongdoings, the Banqiao District Prosecutors' Office still indicted him for gambling and fraud on February 10, 2010.
