Chelsea Marcantel
Chelsea Marcantel is an American playwright and director. She has written over thirty plays. She won the American Theatre Critics Association's M. Elizabeth Osborn New Play Award in 2018 for her play ''Airness,'' and a Richard Rodgers Award for Musical Theatre from the American Academy of Arts and Letters for her musical ''The Monster.'' Early life Marcantel is originally from Jennings, Louisiana, the daughter of Greg and Jean Marcantel. Marcantel has two younger siblings. She was involved with the local community theatre as a child. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 2005 with a double major in English and Theatre; she earned a master's degree in English Education in 2006. Richard Rodgers Award For Musical Theatre
The Richard Rodgers Award is an annual award presented by the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and was created and endowed by Richard Rodgers in 1978 for the development of new works in musical theatre. These awards provide financial support for full productions, studio productions, and staged readings of new and developing works of musical theatre, and to nurture early-career composers, lyricists and playwrights by enabling their musicals to be produced by nonprofit theatres in New York City. The winners are selected by a jury of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The Richard Rodgers Awards are the Academy's only awards for which applications are accepted. Werner Herzog (; born 5 September 1942) is a German film director, screenwriter, author, actor, and opera director, regarded as a pioneer of New German Cinema.
