AMC Networks International is the division of AMC Networks that operates outside the United States. AMC Networks commissions and distributes TV channels, content and video services. The division's operating companies and business units currently own and operate in joint venture a total of 68 branded TV channels and run a suite of digital, on demand and broadband services in Europe. In aggregate, its channels and feeds reach 382 million homes. AMC Networks International also provide a set of advanced digital services, such as ad sales and broadcast solutions to international channel operators. The company was originally named Chellomedia and was part of Liberty Global. In 2013, it was sold to AMC Networks (a former subsidiary of Cablevision), and was renamed AMC Networks International. MGM Channel (European TV Channel)
MGM Channel, sometimes called just MGM and in Spain Canal MGM, was a European 24-hour film channel that was launched by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios in Germany in 2001, later followed by other European countries. The programming of the channel mainly consisted of movies from MGM's library comprising approximately 4,000 titles, including ''West Side Story'', ''The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert'', '' Madhouse'', ''The Manchurian Candidate'', ''12 Angry Men'', amongst many others. The main language was in English and the films were locally subtitled or dubbed. Some cable operators did offer MGM video on demand. AMC is a European TV channel launched by AMC Networks International. AMC replaced the MGM Channel on 5 November 2014, but in Poland on 6 May 2016. AMC-produced dramas ''Halt & Catch Fire'' and '' The Divide'' are among the first original series that premiered on the channel. The channel also airs films from MGM, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The channel launched in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2015, in partnership with BT TV and branded AMC from BT. Biggs (TV Channel)
Biggs is a Portuguese basic cable and satellite television targeted to children, teens and youth ages 8 to 14. It was launched on 1 December 2009 on the NOS platform. It airs live-action shows, films, anime and cartoon shows. It also used to air archived programs from Canal Panda. Its design is very similar to that of YTV and Disney XD. On 1 June 2021, it was launched another Portuguese TV channel targeted to children called Panda Kids. It airs almost mostly the anime and cartoon shows formerly aired on Biggs, including new ones and films, some formerly aired on Canal Panda.
