Chaudhary (or Choudhary ; also: Chaudhuri, Choudhuary, Chowdhury) is a hereditary title mainly in South Asia, mainly used by Jats, Gurjar and Bhumihar, Bhumihars. Chowdhury (Hindi: चौधरी/चौधुरी/चौधारी; Urdu: چودھری/ چوھدری; Bengali language, Bengali: চৌধুরী) a common surname in South Asia. Chaudharys belong from different backgrounds in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and are not the same people but still have the historical titles. Saket Chaudhary is an Indian screenwriter and director mostly known for 2017 sleeper hit Hindi Medium. He also co-wrote Santosh Sivan's ''Asoka'' and is the director of ''Pyaar Ke Side Effects'', released in September 2006. Basanta Choudhury
Basanta Choudhury (also Chowdhury; 5 May 1928 – 20 June 2000) was an Indian actor in Bengali and Hindi films. He worked with directors Asit Sen, Rajen Tarafdar, Ajay Kar and Bijay Bose, often in leading roles. He is a former Sheriff of Kolkata.
