Chatrichalerm Yukol
Prince Chatrichalerm Yukol ( th, หม่อมเจ้าชาตรีเฉลิม ยุคล; ; born November 29, 1942), or usually known by his nickname Mui ( th, มุ้ย), is a Thai film director, screenwriter film producer and National Artist Performing Arts branch (Movie and TV Drama director) in 2001. A prolific director since the 1970s, among his films is the 2001 historical epic, ''The Legend of Suriyothai''. A member of the Thai royal family, his official royal title is Mom Chao, or M.C., the most junior title still considered royalty. For ''Suriyothai'' as well as his 2007 historical epic, ''King Naresuan'', Chatrichalerm was backed by Queen Sirikit. Four of his films have been submitted by Thailand for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film: ''The Elephant Keeper'', ''Song for Chao Phya'', ''Daughter 2'' and '' King of Fire''. ''Mom Rajawongse'' Chalermchatri Yukol ( th, หม่อมราชวงศ์เฉลิมชาตรี ยุคล; b. September 28, 1985), is a Thai film and television series director. He started his career as a radio host. The 31st annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 13 to 24 February 1981. The Golden Bear was awarded to the Spanish film '' Deprisa, Deprisa'' directed by Carlos Saura. The retrospective was dedicated to British film producer Michael Balcon, as well a tribute to Turkish film director Yılmaz Güney who was a political prisoner at the time. Thanom Kittikachorn
Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn ( th, ถนอม กิตติขจร, ; 11 August 1911 – 16 June 2004) was the leader of Thailand from 1963 to 1973, during which he staged a self-coup, until public protests which exploded into violence forced him to step down. His return from exile in 1976 sparked protests which led to a massacre of demonstrators, followed by a military coup. Suwanni Sukhontha ( th, สุวรรณี สุคนธา) was the pen name of Suwanni Sukhonthiang ( th, สุวรรณี สุคนธ์เที่ยง; 1 March 1932 – 3 February 1984), a Thai writer and novelist. ''Chang: A Drama of the Wilderness'', also known simply as ''Chang'' (from Thai ช้าง, "elephant") is a silent film about a poor farmer in northern Nan Province (northern Thailand) and his daily struggle for survival in the jungle. The film was directed by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack. It was released by Famous Players-Lasky, a division of Paramount Pictures. Plot Kru, the farmer depicted in the film, battles leopards, tigers, and even a herd of elephants, all of which pose a constant threat to his livelihood. As filmmakers, Cooper and Schoedsack attempted to capture real life with their cameras, though they often re-staged events that had not been captured adequately on film.
