Telad
Telad is an Israeli production company. The company is mostly known for being one of the three concessionaires whom ran the Israeli commercial television channel Channel 2 between the years 1993–2005. History The company was founded in the 1960s as a small production company in Jerusalem named "Idan" and provided services to the Israeli channel 1 and to TV stations worldwide. "Idan" was reestablished in 1973 into "Telad" as part of a joint establishment with the Israeli investment firm Israel Discount Bank. In the early 1990s "Telad" upgraded its position after winning the bid to operate the newly established Channel 2 and was the first of the three concessionaires to broadcast the first transmissions on the opening day of channel 2 on 4 November 1993. Tuvia Tzafir ( he, טוביה צפיר; born December 31, 1945) is an Israeli actor, comedian, television presenter, singer and entertainer. Biography Tzafir was born in Tel Aviv as Tuvia Kozlowski. He grew up in a traditionalist home of Jewish immigrants from Poland who lived in the Florentin district of south Tel Aviv. During the early 1960s, Tzafir got his show business breakthrough when he served in the IDF Nahal entertainment troupe. Since then he has become one of Israel's biggest TV, cinema, and stage entertainers, particularly humor and satire television and stage shows. Spitting Image
''Spitting Image'' is a British satirical television puppet show, created by Peter Fluck, Roger Law and Martin Lambie-Nairn. First broadcast in 1984, the series was produced by 'Spitting Image Productions' for Central Independent Television over 18 series which aired on the ITV network. The series was nominated and won numerous awards, including ten BAFTA Television Awards, and two Emmy Awards in 1985 and 1986 in the Popular Arts Category. The series features puppet caricatures of contemporary celebrities and public figures, including British Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and John Major and the British royal family. The series was the first to caricature Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (as an elderly gin-drinker with a Beryl Reid voice). Political Satire
Political satire is satire that specializes in gaining entertainment from politics; it has also been used with subversive intent where Political discourse analysis, political speech and dissent are forbidden by a regime, as a method of advancing political arguments where such arguments are expressly forbidden. Political satire is usually distinguished from political protest or political dissent, as it does not necessarily carry an agenda nor seek to influence the political process. While occasionally it may, it more commonly aims simply to provide entertainment. Yossi Beilin
Yosef "Yossi" Beilin ( he, יוסף "יוסי" ביילין, born 12 June 1948) is an Israeli politician who has served in multiple ministerial and leadership positions in the Israeli government. Much of his political career was in the Labour Party. He also served as chairman of the Meretz-Yachad political party. Shlomo Ben-Ami
Shlomo Ben-Ami ( he, שלמה בן עמי; born 17 July 1943) is a former Israeli diplomat, politician, and historian. Biography Shlomo Benabou (later Ben-Ami) was born in Tangiers, Morocco. He immigrated to Israel in 1955. He was educated at Tel Aviv University and St Antony's College, Oxford from which he received a D.Phil. in history. Binyamin "Fuad" Ben-Eliezer (, he, בנימין "פואד" בן אליעזר; 12 February 1936 – 28 August 2016) was an Iraqi-born Israeli politician and general. Avraham "Avrum" Burg ( he, אברהם בורג; born 19 January 1955) is an Israeli author, politician and businessman. He was a member of the Knesset, chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel, Speaker of the Knesset, and Interim President of Israel. He was the first Speaker of the Knesset to have been born in Israeli territory after independence in 1948.
