The Chart Pattana Kla Party ( th, พรรคชาติพัฒนากล้า) is a Thai political party. In 2007 Thai general election, the chairman of the party is Wannarat Channukul. His brother-in-law, the party's "chief advisor" Suwat Liptapanlop is however considered its ''de facto'' leader. History It was founded under the name of ''Ruam Jai Thai Chart Pattana'' ("Thais United National Development Party") as a merger of Thais United and the former National Development Party in September 2007. In the 2007 Thai general election, the party received enough votes to gain eight out of 480 seats in the House of Representatives of Thailand. After 2008, the party was a member of the six-party coalition government led by the Democrat Party's leader, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva. Korn Chatikavanij ( th, กรณ์ จาติกวณิช, , born 19 February 1964 in London) is a Thai Democrat Party (Thailand), Democrat Party politician, best selling author, and former investment banker. From 2008 to 2011, he was Ministry of Finance (Thailand), finance minister under Abhisit Vejjajiva. Prime Minister Of Thailand
The prime minister of Thailand ( th, นายกรัฐมนตรี, , ; literally 'chief minister of state') is the head of government of Thailand. The prime minister is also the chair of the Cabinet of Thailand. The post has existed since the Revolution of 1932, when the country became a constitutional monarchy. Prior to the coup d'état, the prime minister was nominated by a vote in the Thai House of Representatives by a simple majority, and is then appointed and sworn-in by the king of Thailand. Until 22 May 2014, the politics of Thailand were conducted within the framework of a constitutional monarchy, whereby the prime minister is the head of government and a hereditary monarch is head of state. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislative branches. Following the coup d'état of 22 May 2014 revoking the 2007 constitution, a military organization called National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) had taken over administration. The chief of NCPO abolished the national assembly and assumed the responsibilities of the legislative branch. Under the martial law enforced throughout the kingdom, military courts have been tasked to be responsible for some cases that are normally under the civilian courts. Kla Party
The Kla Party is a political party in Thailand led by Korn Chatikavanij, a former member of the Democrat Party (Thailand), Democrat Party. In 2022, the party participated in the Bangkok metropolitan council election but failed to secure any seats, receiving 53,232 votes (2.32% of the total). On September 26, 2022, Korn Chatikavanij announced that the Kla Party had formed a political alliance with the Chart Pattana Kla Party to compete in the upcoming 2023 Thai general election, Thai general election in 2023. The Chart Pattana Kla Party currently has four members of parliament, while the Kla Party has none. Yaowapa Boorapolchai ( th, เยาวภา บุรพลชัย; ; born September 6, 1984 at Bangkok) is a Thai taekwondo athlete who was the bronze medalist in the women's under 49 kg event at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She graduate Bachelor of Arts Historical major from Thammasat University. She started competing in 2002. The Pheu Thai Party (PTP; th, พรรคเพื่อไทย, lit=For Thais Party, , ) is the third incarnation of a Thai political party founded by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The Pheu Thai Party was founded on 20 September 2007, as an anticipated replacement for the People's Power Party (PPP), which the Constitutional Court of Thailand dissolved less than three months later after finding party members guilty of electoral fraud. 2011 Thai General Election
General elections were held in Thailand on 3 July 2011 to elect the 24th House of Representatives. The protestors of the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) or " Red Shirts" who occupied downtown Bangkok in April and May 2010 had demanded new elections. The government's counter-proposal to hold elections on 14 November 2010 was rejected by them and was followed by a violent crackdown when the protestors refused to disperse. Elections were finally announced in May 2011. With a turnout of 75.03%, populist Pheu Thai Party won a majority with 265 seats.
