Charlie Satterthwaite
Charles Oliver Satterthwaite (2 March 1877 – 25 May 1948) was an English footballer who played as a forward in the Football League for Bury, Burton Swifts, Liverpool and Woolwich Arsenal. Career Born in Cockermouth, Cumberland, Satterthwaite played as a youth for local sides Black Diamonds and Workington before he joined Football League side Bury in 1896. Satterthwaite then moved to Burton Swifts a year later. As a striker known for his powerful shooting, he made enough of a name for himself at Burton to be signed by Liverpool in 1899. He made his Liverpool debut away to Nottingham Forest on 16 December 1899, and scored on his Anfield debut against Glossop North End on 23 December. He continued to play for Liverpool that season, scoring five goals in 18 matches, and scored five in 22 matches the following season as Liverpool won the 1900–01 First Division title. Cockermouth
Cockermouth is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Allerdale in Cumbria, England, so named because it is at the confluence of the River Cocker as it flows into the River Derwent. The mid-2010 census estimates state that Cockermouth has a population of 8,204, increasing to 8,761 at the 2011 Census. Historically a part of Cumberland, Cockermouth is situated outside the English Lake District on its northwest fringe. Much of the architectural core of the town remains unchanged since the basic medieval layout was filled in the 18th and 19th centuries. The regenerated market place is now a central historical focus within the town and reflects events from its 800-year history. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. The competition was based on two points for a win from 1888 until the increase to three points for a win in 1981.
