Charlie McGuckin
Charlie McGuckin (born 1999) is an Irish hurler who plays for club side Naomh Éanna and at inter-county level with the Wexford senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a forward. Career Son of Offaly All-Ireland-winner Shane, McGuckin first played at juvenile and underage levels with the Naomh Éanna club before progressing onto the senior team. He won a Wexford SHC title in 2018 after beating St. Martin's in the final. McGuckin first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Wexford minor hurling team in 2017 before later captaining the under-20 team. He was drafted onto the Wexford senior hurling team for the 2022 season. Naomh Éanna GAA (Gorey)
Naomh Éanna GAA is a hurling, Gaelic football and camogie club based in Gorey, County Wexford, Ireland.St.Enda’s History The hurling club was founded in 1970 by a group of Christian Brothers and takes its name from Scoil Éanna, the school founded by Patrick Pearse. The camogie team was revived in 2002. Naomh Éanna won the Wexford IHC in 2015, advanced to the 2015–16 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship where they lost to Kiltale (Meath). Naomh Éanna were also promoted to the senior championship, winning their first senior hurling county title in 2018. St Martin's GAA (Wexford)
St Martin's GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Murrintown in the Parish of Piercestown, County Wexford, Ireland. The club was founded in 1932 and fields teams in both hurling and Gaelic football. The women's arm of the club fields teams in both camogie and ladies' Gaelic football. History The club was founded in 1932 although an earlier club bearing that name, and playing in black in white, was established in Murrintown in 1912. It lost the county junior football final of 1913 and then, in 1914, it changed jerseys to green and yellow and its name to Michael Dwyers. The current club was established at a meeting in Piercestown National School in 1932. Cian Molloy
In Irish mythology, Cian or Cían (), nicknamed Scal Balb, was the son of Dian Cecht, the physician of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and best known as the father of Lugh Lamhfada. Cían's brothers were Cu, Cethen, and Miach. Conor Firman
Conor Firman (born 1998) is an Irish hurler who plays for Wexford Senior Championship club St Martin's and at inter-county level with the Wexford senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a centre-back. Playing career St Peter's College Firman first came to prominence as a hurler and Gaelic footballer with St Peter's College in Wexford. He played in every grade of hurling and Gaelic football before eventually joining the college's senior teams. On 27 January 2017, O'Connor scored two points from centre-back when he captained St Peter's College to the Leinster Championship title following their 2-13 to 0-07 victory. He retained his position at centre-back when St Peter's College faced St Brendan's College from Killarney in the All-Ireland final on 1 April 2017. Leinster Senior Hurling Championship
The Leinster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Leinster Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition in the province of Leinster, and has been contested every year since the 1888 championship. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. A captain of a Gaelic games team, sometimes known as a ''skipper'', is a player who, during the course of a match as well as before and after it, has several additional roles and responsibilities over and above those of his teammates. Tradition means that some teams rotate the captaincy annually, though others may adopt a permanent captain. As well as being an onfield leader, a captain takes the coin toss and raises the trophy when this is the game's prize. Responsibilities The captain leads the team out onto the pitch. The 2018 Wexford Senior Hurling Championship was the 116th staging of the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Wexford County Board in 1889. The Wexford Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Pettitt's SuperValu Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Wexford GAA clubs. The Institute of Technology, Carlow (IT Carlow; ga, Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Cheatharlach) was an institute of technology, located in Carlow, Ireland.
