Charleta Tavares
Charleta B. Tavares is a former member of the Ohio Senate. She represented the 15th District from 2011 to 2018. Her district included much of central Franklin County, including the cities of Bexley and Grandview Heights with the majority encompassing the historic neighborhoods of Columbus, Ohio. Tavares previously had served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1993 to 1998. Life and career Tavares has an extensive public service career starting as the Legislative Assistant to Ray Miller in the Ohio House of Representatives. She also served as Chief of the Children's Protection Section for Ohio Attorney General Lee Fisher prior to her appointment in 1993, as state Representative and the first African-American and Democratic woman to serve in the Legislature from Franklin County in the state's history. Ohio's 15th senatorial district has always been based in Columbus, Ohio. Currently it comprises central Franklin County. It encompasses Ohio House districts 18, 25 and 26. It has a Cook PVI of D+25. Ken Blackwell
John Kenneth Blackwell (born February 28, 1948) is an American politician, author, and conservative activist who served as the mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio (1979–80), the Ohio State Treasurer (1994–99), and Ohio Secretary of State (1999–2007). Lieutenant Governor Of Ohio
The position of lieutenant governor of Ohio was established in 1852. The lieutenant governor becomes governor if the governor resigns, dies in office or is removed by impeachment. Before 1852, the president of the Ohio State Senate would serve as acting governor if a vacancy in the governorship occurred. Until 1978, lieutenant governors were elected separately but concurrently with the governor (not on a "ticket"). Thus, there were several occasions when the lieutenant governor was from a different party than the governor. This was changed by constitutional amendment. In 1974, Richard F. Bryan Flannery (born December 24, 1967) is an American politician who served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. Daniel R. Brady of Cleveland, Ohio, is an American politician of the Democratic party. Brady holds a bachelor of arts degree in history and political science from Ohio University. Bradley (born October 2, 1952) is an American politician of the Republican party and served as the 62nd lieutenant governor of Ohio from 2003 to 2005 and Ohio State Treasurer from 2005 to 2007.
