Charles Victor Robertson
Charles Victor Robertson (9 October 1882 – 26 May 1951) (CVR) was a New Zealand - Australian businessman, politician and educator who played a major part in the development of modern accountancy, brokerage, and business education in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He was the governing director and founder of Hemingway & Robertson, Hemingway Robertson Institute, and Australasian Assets and Goodwill, positions he held until his death. He was also the last president of the Stock Exchange of Melbourne, and the first chairman of the Melbourne branch of the Liberal Party of Australia. Mallacoota
Mallacoota is a small town in the East Gippsland region in the state of Victoria, Australia. At the 2016 census, Mallacoota had a population of 1,063. Ben Chifley
Joseph Benedict Chifley (; 22 September 1885 – 13 June 1951) was an Australian politician who served as the 16th prime minister of Australia from 1945 to 1949. He held office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) from 1945, following the death of John Curtin on 5 July, until his own death in 1951. Chifley was born in Bathurst, New South Wales, and joined the New South Wales Government Railways after leaving school, eventually qualifying as an engine driver. He was prominent in the trade union movement before entering politics, and was also a director of ''The National Advocate''. After several previous unsuccessful candidacies, Chifley was elected to parliament in the 1928 Australian federal election. The 1949 Australian federal election was held in Australia on 10 December 1949. All 121 seats in the House of Representatives and 42 of the 60 seats in the Senate were up for election. The incumbent Labor Party, led by Prime Minister Ben Chifley, was defeated by the opposition Liberal–Country coalition under Robert Menzies. Menzies became prime minister for a second time, his first period having ended in 1941. This election marked the end of the 8-year Curtin-Chifley Labor Government that had been in power since 1941 and started the 23-year Liberal/Country Coalition Government.
