Charles Townsend Harrison
Charles Townsend Harrison (11 February 1942 Chesham, Buckinghamshire – 6 August 2009 Banbury, Oxfordshire), BA Hons (Cantab), MA (Cantab), PhD (London) was a UK art historian who taught Art History for many years and was Emeritus Professor of History and Theory of Art at the Open University. Although he denied being an artist himself, he was a full participant and catalyst in the Art and Language group. Charles Harrison was educated at Cambridge University and the Courtauld Institute of Art in London from 1961 to 1967. He was tutor in Art History at the Open University from 1977–2005, Reader in Art History there from 1985-1994, Professor of the History and Theory of Art from 1994–2008, Professor Emeritus from 2008–2009, and Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago in 1991 and 1996, and Visiting Professor at the University of Texas in 1997. Chesham

David Bainbridge (artist)
David Bainbridge (* 1941 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, Great Britain; † 30 June 2013) was a British sculptor, Conceptual Artist and member of the artist group Art & Language. Life and work David Bainbridge studied at the St. Martin's School of Art in London from 1963 to 1966. He taught at Birmingham College of Art from 1966 to 1969 and at Lanchester Polytechnic in Coventry from 1969 to 1971 and on Hull College of Art + Stourbridge College of Art from 1971 until retirement. Bainbridge worked with the "Fine-Artz-Group" on "" Action Chair "" in 1964. He participated in the Sculpture Exhibition at St. Martins School of Art in London in 1966. Penelope Curtis
Penelope Curtis (born 1961) is a British art historian and curator. Fom 2015 to 2020 she was the director of Lisbon's Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, and from 2010 to 2015 director of Tate Britain. She is the author of several monographs on sculpture and has written widely at the invitation of contemporary artists. Early life Curtis was born in 1961. Her family moved from London in 1967 when her father Adam S. G. Curtis became Professor of Cell Biology at Glasgow University. She studied Modern History at Corpus Christi College, Oxford University from 1979 until 1982. Curtis completed an MA in Modern European Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art where she later gained a PhD on monumental sculpture in Third Republic France after two years' research in Paris. Mary Jane Jacob
Mary Jane Jacob is an American curator, writer, and educator from Chicago, Illinois. She is a professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and is the Executive Director of Exhibitions and Exhibition Studies. She has held posts as Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Since 1990 Jacob has been a pioneer in the areas of public, site-specific, and socially engaged art. Scottish Arts Council
The Scottish Arts Council ( gd, Comhairle Ealain na h-Alba, sco, Scots Airts Cooncil) was a Scottish public body responsible for the funding, development and promotion of the arts in Scotland. The Council primarily distributed funding from the Scottish Government as well as National Lottery funds received via the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Mel Ramsden
Mel Ramsden (born 1944) is a British conceptual artist and member of the Art & Language artist group. Life and work Ramsden was born in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, Great Britain. He studied at Nottingham College of Art from 1961 to 1963, went to Australia in 1963 and studied at the National Gallery School of Victoria from 1963 to 1964. In 1967 Ramsden moved to New York City in the United States and began the series of the '' Secret Painting''s and the ''Two Black Squares''.
