Charl Du Plessis (pianist)
Charl Petrus du Plessis (born 16 February 1977) is a South African classical and jazz pianist. He is one of five South African Steinway & Sons, Steinway artists and has won two South African Music Awards in 2017 and 2018. For the past 20 years he has been the pianist for South African people, South African singer-songwriter Nataniël. He is also the founder and pianist of the Charl du Plessis Trio which includes Werner Spies (bass) and Peter Auret (drums). Early life Charl Petrus du Plessis was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa, as the youngest child of Charl and Helen du Plessis. Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras
The Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras (FSYO) is a music education program in Central Florida, consisting of six primary ensembles with nearly 300 student musicians. FSYO is the oldest operating youth symphony in the state of Florida and is believed to be the 3rd oldest in the southeastern United States. It was originally affiliated with the now-defunct Florida Symphony Orchestra. Both new and returning student members are required to audition annually. Acceptance and orchestra placement is a competitive, merit-based process in which auditionees must meet requirements for consideration. The organization is under the musical direction of Dr. James O. Aardklop
Aardklop is an annual South African arts festival held in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Potchefstroom has always been a cultural city and home to several well-known South African writers and artists. The Aardklop National Arts Festival has been in existence from 1998 and has since become a bastion of arts and culture in South Africa. The festival incorporates predominantly, but not exclusively, Afrikaans theatre, music, cabaret and visual arts, presented in a variety of venues across the town. Sand Du Plessis Theatre
The Sand du Plessis Theatre ( af, Sand du Plessis-teaterkompleks) is located on Markgraaff Street, Bloemfontein, South Africa. It is a large, multipurpose theater center opened on August 1, 1985 as the home of the Regional Council of Sukovs (Orange Free State Performing Arts Society). It covers a whole city block and includes two formal spaces. The theatre is named after Sand du Plessis, former administrator of Free State. The primary architect of the project was Henk Boting. Artscape Theatre Centre (formerly Nico Malan Theatre Centre) is the main performing arts centre in Cape Town, South Africa.
