Charilaos Stavrakis
Charilaos G. Stavrakis ( el, Χαρίλαος Γ. Σταυράκης; born 1956) is a Cypriot banker, businessman and a politician. He served as a Finance Minister of Cyprus from 29 February 2008 until 5 August 2011. Education Stavrakis studied Economics at the University of Cambridge. He was later accepted to Harvard Business School (HBS), from which he obtained his MBA in 1981. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland (ACIB). Banking career Stavrakis made his banking career primarily in the Bank of Cyprus. There he held several key positions including Senior Manager of Treasury International Services, Head of Strategic Planning & Business Development, Group general manager International Banking and general manager of CISCO, the investment division of the Bank. Demetris Christofias
Demetris Christofias, also spelled Dimitris Christofias ( el, Δημήτρης Χριστόφιας ; 29 August 1946 – 21 June 2019), was a Cypriot politician who served as the sixth president of Cyprus from 2008 to 2013. Christofias was the General Secretary of AKEL (Progressive Party of Working People) and was the European Union's and Cyprus' first — and so far only — communist head of state. He won the 2008 Cypriot presidential elections in the second round of voting. Throughout the election campaign, he pledged to restart talks with Turkish Cypriots in order to find a solution to the Cyprus dispute and reunify the island. He also supported the closure of the British military bases on Cyprus. Electricity Authority Of Cyprus
The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) (Greek: ''Αρχή Ηλεκτρισμού Κύπρου (ΑΗΚ)'') was founded in 1952 by the British colonial government. The 28 private electricity companies of the time were nationalized and absorbed into the EAC. The Authority never received any subsidies from the government as these have always been prohibited by law. Its head office is located in Strovolos. Michael Sarris
Michael Sarris ( el, Μιχάλης Σαρρής; born 14 April 1946) is a Greek Cypriot economist and politician. He earned his B.Sc. in Economics at the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). He later continued his studies in the United States where he obtained his Doctorate in Economics at Wayne State University.
