''Chappo'' is a 1982 Malayalam film directed by P. A. Backer and starring Zainuddin (actor) Hari, Kunjandi and Beena. The film is about a lone individual's determined fight against tyranny. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. This was the debut movie of actor Zainuddin (actor). He played a character named vasu in this movie. Jamal Kochangadi
Jamal Kochangadi ( ml, ജമാൽ കൊച്ചങ്ങാടി ) is an Indian writer, script writer, lyricist and music journalist. Early life Kochangadi was born on 30 April 1944 in Kochangadi, in the Ernakulam district of Kerala. His parents were P.A. Zainuddhin Naina (Freedom fighter, journalist, political leader, founder of Coir Fed) and Sulekha. Career After completing school in 1963, he joined ''Kerala Nadam'', an evening newspaper, eventually becoming the Chief Editor of the Bharatharajyam Evening Newspaper. Then he worked in a couple of small newspapers in Kochi like Yuva Keralam, Jai Hind, Cochin Express and a weekly named Film Nadam. From 1980 onwards he held positions in news dailies such as League Times, Madhyamam, and Thejus. From 1988 to 2018 he was in charge of the Special Edition of newspapers. Devarajan
Paravoor Govindan Devarajan (1927–2006), popularly known as G. Devarajan or Devarajan master, was an Indian music composer and Carnatic singer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of Indian film music. He scored music for more than three hundred Malayalam films, many dramas, and twenty Tamil and four Kannada movies. His collaborations with Vayalar Ramavarma produced the golden era of Malayalam film music and many of his compositions remain ever green classics in Malayalam. Vipindas
Vipindas (1938 – 12 February 2011) was an Indian cinematographer and director. He has cinematographed more than 200 films in Malayalam alone, and has directed a couple of films. Biography Vipindas was born in 1938 in Pazhayannur, Thrissur, Kerala, as the son of Pallippatta Sankaran Nair and Lakshmi Amma. At the age of 15, he went to Madras (now Chennai) to study photography. He had no formal education in photography but was able to assist veteran Bollywood cinematographer Beevashom for three years. Vipindas started his film career with the Tamil film ''Thalattu'', which he also directed. He debuted in Malayalam through ''Prethangalude Thazhvara'' by P.Venu. Zainuddin (actor)
A. C. Zainuddin (12 May 1952 – 4 November 1999) was an Indian actor, assistant director and comedian, who worked in Malayalam cinema. Career He started his career as a mimicry artist in Cochin Kalabhavan. He was expert in imitating actor Madhu, Weblokam profile especially his mannerisms as Pareekkutty in ''Chemmeen''. He first appeared in films like ''Chappa'' directed by P. A. Bakkar. He then went on to act in over 150 films in a span of 13 years from 1986 to 1999. He was noted for his role as a Siamese twin in the film ''Siamese Irattakal'', which featured him as a conjoined twin to Maniyanpilla Raju. The National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam is one of the National Film Awards presented annually by the Directorate of Film Festivals, the organisation set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India. It is one of several awards presented for feature films and awarded with Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus). The National Film Awards, established in 1954, are the most prominent film awards in India that merit the best of the Indian cinema. Harikeshan Thampi, stage name Hari, is an Indian actor and dubbing artist best known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He has acted in more than 50 films and dubbed for almost 1,000 films. Thampi made his debut in the Malayalam film ''Raja Harishchandra'' as Lohithakshan, son of Raja Harishchandra. Later he switched roles to be a dubbing artist.
