"Changeling" is a song by English pop singer-songwriter Alison Moyet, and is the third single released off her eighth studio album, ''The Minutes'' (2013). Background Moyet offered "Changeling" as a free digital download via her web official site in February 2013 in order to give listeners a taste of what was to come from her upcoming album. ''Changeling'' was under consideration as a possible album title. The idea was nixed once Moyet learned that singer Toyah Willcox had an album of the same name ('' The Changeling''). Critical reception Upon release, Contactmusic.com said: ""Changeling" finds Alison's voice on strong and seductive form, with its powerful, experimental and dramatic style indicative of the boundary-pushing album as a whole." Geneviève Alison Jane Ballard ( ; born 18 June 1961) is an English singer noted for her powerful bluesy contralto voice. She came to prominence as half of the duo Yazoo (also known as Yaz), but has since mainly worked as a solo artist. Her worldwide album sales have reached a certified 23 million, with over two million singles sold. All nine of her studio albums and three compilation albums have charted in the top 30 of the UK Albums Chart, with two of them reaching number one. Terry Farley is a British DJ, remixer and producer from London, active since the mid-1980s. Career Farley started out going to clubs in the late 1970s and first visited Ibiza in 1982. He then started working as a DJ, performing at the same clubs and shows as Paul Oakenfold. He started out by playing reggae and groove music, but by 1987 switched to house music with tracks like "Jack the Groove" by Raze.
