Chandralekha (1995 Film)
''Chandralekha'' is a 1995 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language romantic action film, directed by Nambirajan. Starring Vijay (actor), Vijay and Vanitha Vijayakumar in her debut, the film had music composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film revolves around an orthodox Brahmin girl falls in love with a Muslim boy, Rahim, but their families don't accept it. Meanwhile, the lovers try to elope and are caught by militants in the forest. The film was released on 23 October 1995 on Diwali clashing with Rajinikanth film ''Muthu (film), Muthu'', and ''Chandralekha'' performed mediocre at the box office, even though the film songs were a hit. The film is about Hindu-Muslim marriage riots. The film's title was also titled after the hit song ''Chandralekha'' from ''Thiruda Thiruda'' (1993) film. Nambirajan
Nambirajan is an Indian people, Indian film director who has worked on Tamil films. He made his directorial debut in the 1980s, before proceeding to make ''Nila (film), Nila'' (1994) and ''Chandralekha (1995 film), Chandralekha'' (1995). Career Initially under the name Ranjith Kumar, Nambirajan made several low-budget films in the 1980s. ''Udhayamagirathu'' (1981), ''Manjal Nila'' (1982), ''Kunguma Pottu'' (1982), ''Anbe Odi Vaa'' (1984) and ''Ungalil Oruvan'' (1985) were made in quick succession. Nagoor Babu, known by his stage name Mano, is an Indian playback singer, voice-over artist, actor, producer, television anchor and composer. He is a recipient of several awards such as the Nandi Awards from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Kalaimamani award from the Government of Tamil Nadu. Arunmozhi ( ta, அருண்மொழி) (also called Napoleon Selvaraj) (born 1951) is an Indian playback singer and well-known flutist. He has sung songs composed by leading Indian film industry music directors, including Ilaiyaraaja, Shankar Ganesh, Deva, S. A. Bhavatharani Raja is an Indian singer and music composer. She is the daughter of Ilaiyaraaja and her brothers are the noted film composers Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja. Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (born 29 October 1931 – 18 July 2013) was an Indian poet who is the highest songs wrote lyricist in cinema and whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade long association with the Tamil film industry, wrote over 15,000 songs. Panchanathan Arunachalam (22 March 1941 – 9 August 2016) was an Indian writer, director, producer and lyricist who worked in Tamil cinema. He was mentored by poet Kannadasan who was his uncle. Swarnalatha (29 April 1973 – 12 September 2010) was an Indian playback singer. She is considered to be as Humming Queen Of India and Nightingale Of Tamil Cinema.
