''Chanda'' is a Pakistani Urdu-language film that was released on 3 August 1962 in Pakistan. It stars Rehman and Sultana Zaman in lead roles. It is the first Urdu-language film to be produced in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). It was also Shabnam's Urdu-language film debut. Ehtesham
Abu Nur Muhammad Ehteshamul Haq (1927 – 17 February 2002), known as Captain Ehtesham, was a Bangladeshi and Pakistani film director. On his death in 2002 he was described as a Innovator, pioneer of the film industry in Dhaka, and one of Bangladesh's leading directors. Birth and early life Ehtesham was born in Dhaka on 12 October 1927. His father, Mohammad Yusuf, was a professor at Maulana Azad College, Islamia College and his mother, Mosammat Kaniz Fatema, was a house wife. Career Ehtesham first became a film cinema distributor in 1950. He was credited with the discovery of many noted actors. In 1956 he began his first film, ''Ei Desh Tomar Amar'' ("This country is yours and mine"), which marked the first film acting appearance for both Subhash Dutta and Shabnam. Mukh O Mukhosh
''Mukh O Mukhosh'' ( bn, মুখ ও মুখোশ, translation='The Face and the Mask', italic=yes) was the first Bengali-language feature film to be made in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). It was produced by Iqbal Films and directed by Abdul Jabbar Khan. The film was released in East Pakistan on 3 August 1956. It was released in Dhaka, Chittagong, Narayanganj, and Khulna. The film was a great success as viewers thronged to watch the first film to be made in the region. It earned a total of during its initial run. Background Abdul Jabbar Khan started working on the film in 1953. At that time, the film industry in erstwhile East Pakistan was virtually non-existent, and local film theatres screened mostly Urdu films from Lahore, Hindi films from Mumbai, and Bengal films from Kolkata. Alamgir Kabir (26 December 1938 – 20 January 1989) was a Bangladeshi film director and cultural activist. Three of his feature films are featured in the "Top 10 Bangladeshi Films" list by British Film Institute. Early life and education Kabir was born on 26 December 1938 in Rangamati. His parents originally hailed from Banaripara Upazila of Barisal. He completed the matriculation in 1952 from Dhaka Collegiate School and the intermediate in 1954 from Dhaka College. Anupam Hayat is a Bangladeshi author and film critic. The author of the first textbook on film in Bangladesh titled ''Cholochitra Bidya'', published by Bangladesh Film Study Centre in 2004, Hayat is also credited with another textbook on cinema as an art titled ''Chalachitra Kala'', published by University Grants Commission in 2007.
