Chance. Duties. Realization. ( ro, Șansă, Obligații, Realizări, ȘOR) is a political bloc in Moldova founded by Ilan Shor after the legal ban on the Șor Party. History On 19 June 2023, the Constitutional Court of Moldova ruled at the request of the government, declaring the Șor Party illegal and ''de jure'' disbanded. The Șor Party appears in a criminal case on the financing of an election campaign in the elections for the Bălți mayoral elections in 2021 and in receiving money from a criminal group. Ilan Shor himself, who fled Moldova in June 2019 after the constitutional crisis, was sentenced ''in absentia'' on 13 April 2023 by judges of the Chișinău Court of Appeal to 15 years in prison with a term to be served in a closed prison. On 26 June 2023, Shor announced the creation of the "Chance. Duties. Realization" bloc, which would be abbreviated as "ȘOR". Ilan Shor
Ilan Shor (or Șor; he, אילן שור; born 6 March 1987) is a Moldovan hideaway businessman, oligarch and politician. From July 2015 to April 2019, he served as mayor of the Moldovan city of Orhei. He owns several Moldovan businesses, including a company named ''Dufremol'' (Duty-free) and the FC Milsami football club. In 2014, he became the chairman of the board of the Savings Bank of Moldova. Personal life Shor was born in Tel Aviv, Israel on 6 March 1987, the son of Miron and Maria Shor, Moldovan Jews from Chișinău who had moved to Israel in the late 1970s. The family returned to Chișinău around 1990, when Shor was either two or three years old, and his father went into business in Moldova. His father died in 2005. Shor has been married to the Russian singer Jasmin since 2011. 2019 Moldovan Constitutional Crisis
In mid-2019, a sequence of events following the 2019 Moldovan parliamentary election – and the subsequent attempts to form and install a new government, culminated in the positions of Prime Minister and Speaker of the Parliament, as well as the powers and duties of the President, being claimed by competing individuals. On 8 June 2019, Maia Sandu was elected prime minister by parliament – forming the Sandu Cabinet, while Zinaida Greceanîi was elected Speaker of the Parliament. However, on 9 June 2019 the Constitutional Court temporarily suspended the President of Moldova – Igor Dodon, from the powers and duties of his office and one of the claimants to the position of prime minister, Pavel Filip, was appointed acting president. 2023 Moldovan Local Elections
Local elections were held in Moldova on 5 November 2023, with a runoff round for mayors held two weeks after the first round on 19 November 2023. The main electoral contenders were, on the one hand, the pro-European, Atlanticist, centre-right, and liberal Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), currently in government (namely since 2021 onwards), and, on the other hand, the left-wing and pro-Russian Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BECS), currently in opposition and comprising the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) as well as the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), the latter being the largest political party of the alliance. Maia Sandu
Maia Sandu (; born 24 May 1972) is a Moldovan politician who has been the President of Moldova since 24 December 2020. She is the former leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) and former Prime Minister of Moldova from 8 June 2019 until 14 November 2019. On 12 November 2019, Sandu's government collapsed after a vote of no-confidence, with 63 (deputies from PSRM and PDM) of the 101 MPs having voted on the motion submitted by the PSRM. Sandu was Minister of Education from 2012 to 2015 and member of the Parliament of Moldova from 2014 to 2015, and again in 2019. She was selected as the joint candidate of the pro-European PPDA and PAS parties for president of Moldova in the 2016 election. However, she was defeated in the subsequent runoff by the pro-Russian PSRM candidate, Igor Dodon, losing the popular vote by a margin of 48% to 52%. The "Chance" Political Party ( ro, Partidul Politic “Șansă”), known until 2023 as "Ours" Moldovan Political Party ( ro, Partidul Politic Moldovenesc "Ai Noștri"/"Наши"), is political party in Moldova. It was founded in October 2020 by Mihail Ahremțev. History Ours The creation of Ours was announced on 20 October 2020. Bălți (; russian: Бельцы, , uk, Бєльці, , yi, בעלץ ) is a city in Moldova. It is the second largest city in terms of population, area and economic importance, after Chișinău. The city is one of the five Moldovan municipalities.
