Ours (Moldova)
The "Chance" Political Party ( ro, Partidul Politic “Șansă”), known until 2023 as "Ours" Moldovan Political Party ( ro, Partidul Politic Moldovenesc "Ai Noștri"/"Наши"), is political party in Moldova. It was founded in October 2020 by Mihail Ahremțev. History Ours The creation of Ours was announced on 20 October 2020. The party's leader, Mihail Ahremțev, later came to be a supporter of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Ahremțev claimed at the moment of the party's creation that, in Moldova, a "genocide" against the ethnic minorities of the country was taking place and that the party would promote the interests of Moldova's minorities, including the Gagauz people and the Transnistrians. Another founding member, Anastasia Filipașcu, claimed that the Romanians are an ethnic minority in Moldova. The party also wants Russian to become the second state language of Moldova. Transnistria
Transnistria, officially the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), is an unrecognised breakaway state that is internationally recognised as a part of Moldova. Transnistria controls most of the narrow strip of land between the Dniester river and the Moldovan–Ukrainian border, as well as some land on the other side of the river's bank. Its capital and largest city is Tiraspol. Transnistria has been recognised only by three other unrecognised or partially recognised breakaway states: Abkhazia, Artsakh and South Ossetia. Russophilia (literally love of Russia or Russians) is admiration and fondness of Russia (including the era of the Soviet Union and/or the Russian Empire), Russian history and Russian culture. Dorin Recean
Dorin Recean (born 17 March 1974) is a Moldovan academic and politician, who has been serving as interior minister of Moldova since July 2012 to February 2015. Early life and education Recean was born in Donduşeni on 17 March 1974. In 1996, he graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova with a bachelor's degree in international business management. Then he obtained a master's degree in business administration from Newport International University's Belgium branch in 2000. Career Recean started his career as a lecturer in 1995 at his alma mater, the Academy of Economic Studies, and continued to teach there until 2007. 2023 Moldovan Local Elections
Local elections were held in Moldova on 5 November 2023, with a runoff round for mayors held two weeks after the first round on 19 November 2023. The main electoral contenders were, on the one hand, the pro-European, Atlanticist, centre-right, and liberal Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), currently in government (namely since 2021 onwards), and, on the other hand, the left-wing and pro-Russian Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BECS), currently in opposition and comprising the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) as well as the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), the latter being the largest political party of the alliance. Ilan Shor (or Șor; he, אילן שור; born 6 March 1987) is a Moldovan hideaway businessman, oligarch and politician. From July 2015 to April 2019, he served as mayor of the Moldovan city of Orhei. He owns several Moldovan businesses, including a company named ''Dufremol'' (Duty-free) and the FC Milsami football club. In 2014, he became the chairman of the board of the Savings Bank of Moldova. Personal life Shor was born in Tel Aviv, Israel on 6 March 1987, the son of Miron and Maria Shor, Moldovan Jews from Chișinău who had moved to Israel in the late 1970s. The Șor Party ( ro, Partidul „ȘOR”, ), known from its foundation in 1998 until October 2016 as the Socio-Political Movement "Equality" ( ro, Mișcarea social-politică „Ravnopravie”), is a populist political party in Moldova. A member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Party, it holds Eurosceptic and Russophilian stances.
