Chain Reaction (Luba Album)
''Chain Reaction'' is the only album by Canadian band ''Luba'' featuring Luba Kowalchyk as vocalist. It was produced by Tony Green for his own label. The album contains songs in the early New Wave music style. It was made available on compact disc in 1996. Note that initially ''Luba'' was the name of the band and not Luba Kowalchyk's stage name. In 1982, Luba Kowalchyk was signed by Capitol Records as the artist Luba and the remaining members served as her backup band. Luba (singer)
Luba (born Lubomyra Kowalchyk ( uk, Любомира Ковальчук), April 24, 1958) is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter and recording artist from Quebec. She was professionally active from 1980 to 1990, 2000 to 2001 and is active again from 2007 to present. Career Luba performed with the band Zorya, which released a self-titled album in 1973. In the 1980s she was the vocalist for a band named ''Luba'', and in 1980 that band released the album ''Chain Reaction''. Luba later signed as a solo artist under that name. She released three more albums and two EPs. Two of her albums are certified platinum by the Canadian music industry (sales in excess of 100,000 units). She has nine top-40 hits on the Canadian pop charts. Her signature song is "Every time I See Your Picture" (1983). Her most successful song is a cover of Percy Sledge's " When a Man Loves a Woman" which reached No. 6 on the Canadian pop chart and No. 3 on the Canadian adult contemporary chart (1987). Luba ... New Wave Music

''Lubomyra'' (Cyrillic , bg, кирилица , mk, кирилица , russian: кириллица , sr, ћирилица, uk, кирилиця , fam1 = Egyptian hieroglyphs , fam2 = Proto-Sinaitic , fam3 = Phoenician , fam4 = G ...: Любомира) is the second full-length release, and first solo album by the Canadian-Ukrainian singer-songwriter Luba, then known under her full name Lubomyra. It was released around 1977 by SAGE Promotions and features eleven tracks, two of which ("Carpathia" and "Starry Eyes") were combined into one full-length song. All the songs are traditional or covers of popular Ukrainian songs, with a new arrangement, featuring elements of jazz, blues and rock. The song "Kazka" was composed by Luba herself.
