Centro Sportivo Maruinense
Centro Sportivo Maruinense, commonly known as Maruinense, or as CSM is a Brazilian football club based in Maruim, Sergipe state. They competed twice the Série C. The club was formerly known as Socialista Sport Club. History The club was founded on April 3, 1917, as Socialista Sport Club, being renamed to Centro Sportivo Maruinense in the late 1960s as a way to attract more supporters. Maruinense competed in the Série C in 1994, when they reached the Quarterfinals of the competition being eliminated by Uberlândia, and in 1995, when they were eliminated in the First Round of the competition. Maruim
Maruim is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Sergipe. Its population was 17,271 (2020) and covers . Maruim has a population density of 180 inhabitants per square kilometer. It is located from the state capital of Sergipe, Aracaju. Maruim borders the municipalities of Laranjeiras, Rosário do Catete, and Santo Amaro das Brotas, all within the state of Sergipe. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C 1995 was a football (soccer) series played from August 27 to December 10th, 1995. It was the third level of the Brazilian National League. The competition had 108 clubs, the largest number before or since (as of writing in 2014), and two of them were originally promoted to Série B. Campeonato Sergipano (lower Levels)
The Campeonato Sergipano is the state football league of Sergipe, Brazil. Format During the 2022 season, The tournament is divided in three stages. In the 1st round, 10 clubs were split in 2 groups of 5 teams in each. The teams played 2 matches against the clubs on the opposite groups, or basically, Group A vs Group B. The top 2 of each group advanced to the semi-finals (second round). In these semi-finals, the 4 clubs who qualified from the previous round, were distributed in 2 groups of 2 teams in each. The 1st-placed team of each group played against the 2nd-placed team of the same group they took part in, with the teams playing this round in a two-legged match. The best-ranked team would be granted the right to host the 2nd leg. To determine the winner, the most-common method used in knockout stages is applied.
