Centre Street Church
Centre Street Church is an evangelical megachurch located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, affiliated with the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada (EMCC). Founded in 1958, it has an average weekly attendance of 7,739 and is considered the largest megachurch in Canada. In addition to its Central Campus, it has four satellite locations in the Calgary Metropolitan Region. Its senior pastor is Dr. Henry Schorr. History Centre Street Church was founded in 1958 by 62 members of ''Salem Evangelical Church'', a German-speaking church in the Calgary inner city neighbourhood of Bridgeland. These members founded a new English-speaking church in north Calgary; amongst the founding members was the senior pastor of Salem, Rev. F.W. Snyder. Bridgeland-Riverside, formerly known as Bridgeland and Germantown, is a neighbourhood in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is located northeast of Downtown Calgary. Rocky View County
Rocky View County is a municipal district in southern Alberta, Canada that is named for its views of the nearby Rocky Mountains to the west. It surrounds most of Calgary, forming the city's northern boundary and most of the city's western and eastern boundaries. Bearspaw, Alberta
Bearspaw is rural area in southern Alberta, Canada within in Rocky View County. It has a population of 5,567 (2018). The original inhabitants of the Bearspaw area were the Niitsitapi or Blackfoot nation. The Blackfoot nation consisted of four different tribes, Siksika, Piegan Blackfeet, Piikani Nation and Kaninai (Blood Indians). To the south-east of Bearspaw is the City of Calgary, and the Town of Cochrane is to its west, along Highway 1A. The area of Bearspaw is north of the Bow River and directly east of Glendale Community within Rocky View County. Airdrie ( ) is a city in Alberta, Canada within the Calgary Region. It is located north of Calgary within the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor at the intersection of Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Highway 2) and Highway 567. Centre Street is a major road in Calgary, Alberta, and defines the east and west halves of the city for the purposes of street addresses (i.e. NW, SW, NE, SE). Route description The main segment of Centre Street is an arterial road that extends from 9 Avenue S, at the base of the Calgary Tower in Downtown Calgary. The roadway passes through Chinatown, crosses the Bow River, to the Beddington Boulevard, after which it becomes a residential street and becomes unavailable to private vehicular traffic north of Bergen Crescent (the road continues, but it is only accessible to Calgary Transit and emergency vehicles). The road resumes immediately north of the "bus trap" at Beddington Trail, where it continues as Harvest Hills Boulevard. Highland Park is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by McKnight Boulevard, to the east by Edmonton Trail, to the south by 32 Avenue N and to the west by 4 Street W. The Calgary Metropolitan Region (CMR), also commonly referred to as the Calgary Region, is a conglomeration of municipalities centred on Calgary, the largest city in Alberta. A megachurch is a church with an unusually large membership that also offers a variety of educational and social activities, usually Protestant or Evangelical.
