A ( fa, بخش, also romanized as ) is a third-level administrative division of Iran. Bam, Iran
Bam ( fa, بم) is a city and capital of Bam County, Kerman Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 73,823, in 19,572 families. The modern Iranian city of Bam surrounds the Bam citadel. Before the 2003 earthquake the official population count of the city was roughly 43,000. There are various opinions about the date and reasons for the foundation of the citadel. Economically and commercially, Bam occupied a very important place in the region and was famous for its textiles and clothes. Kork and Nartich Rural District ( fa, دهستان کرک و نارتیج) is in Baravat District of Bam County, Kerman province, Kerman province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Posht Rud, Bam, Posht Rud. At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the Central District (Bam County), Central District) was 9,216 in 2,519 households. There were 13,756 inhabitants in 4,226 households at the following census of 2011, by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Baravat District.
