Center For Eurasian Studies
Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) was founded on 2 January 2009. History The Center for Eurasian Strategic Studies ( ASAM) which was established at the end of the 1990s in Ankara ceased its operations in 2008. Institute for Armenian Research ( Ermeni Araştırmaları Enstitüsü) ( ERAREN), a sub-working group of ASAM, continued its studies for a while. In 2009, ERAREN decided to carry out its activities as Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) within the Turkmeneli Cooperation and Culture Foundation in Ankara. After establishment of AVİM, in addition to the main field of study of ERAREN, AVİM has expanded its field of study by making studies on the Eurasian Region. Research Studies at AVİM are carried out by 12 research assistants. Institute For Armenian Research
Institute for Armenian Research ( Ermeni Araştırmaları Enstitüsü; EREN; ERAREN) was a privately funded think tank sub-working group in Turkey established in April 2001 by the Center for Eurasian Strategic Studies. Ömer Engin Lütem was the chairman of ERAREN. In 2009, ERAREN was dissolved. It decided to carry out its activities as Center for Eurasian Studies ( AVİM). Ertuğrul Apakan
Ertuğrul Apakan (born 1947) is a Turkish diplomat. Ambassador Apakan was the Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine between 2 April 2014 and 30 May 2019. Ambassador Apakan has had a longstanding diplomatic career, most recently as the Permanent Representative of Turkey to the United Nations (2009 – 2012) and as Undersecretary at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006 – 2009).
