Cedar Middle School
Iron County School District is a school district in Cedar City, Utah. The first school in Iron County was dedicated on December 23, 1851 in Parowan, Utah. In 1853, school was also held in Cedar City at the Old Fort. In 1856, the first school in Cedar city was built. Today, Iron County School District has eight secondary schools, nine elementary schools, and two preschools. It has a total enrollment of approximately 8,900 students. Cedar High School
ˌ Cedar High School, also known as Cedar City High School or CHS, is a public high school in Cedar City, Utah, United States. History Cedar High School was founded in September 1940. The school building was located on Center Street and 300 West. It was designed to house 350 students and became overcrowded as the student body grew to 500. It was torn down in 2000 to make room for a parking lot. (Cedar High School was never part of Branch Agricultural College, which was across the street from the original High School location.) Enoch, Utah
Enoch is a mostly rural and agricultural city in Iron County, Utah, United States, and is located approximately northeast of Cedar City in the northeast part of Cedar Valley. The population was 5,803 at the 2010 census, up from 3,467 at the 2000 census. As of 2018 the estimated population was 7,039. Enoch was originally settled as part of an iron mission along with Cedar City and Parowan. The area was originally known as "Fort Johnson" and "Johnson Springs", after Joel H. Johnson, the earliest known white settler, who came to the area in 1851 with his family. In 1890, the area's name was changed to "Enoch", to avoid confusion with another settlement in Utah also named Johnson Springs. Parowan, Utah
Parowan ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Iron County, Utah, United States. The population was 2,790 at the 2010 census, and in 2018 the estimated population was 3,100. Parowan became the first incorporated city in Iron County in 1851. A fort that had been constructed on the east side of Center Creek the previous year was an initial hub in the development of ironworks in the region. Parowan served as the agricultural support base for the local iron industry, whose blast furnace was located in nearby Cedar City. Eventually, the ironworks were decommissioned. Despite occasional successes, the mission failed to produce a consistent and sustained supply of pig iron. By 1858, most of the area's mining operations had ceased due to disappointing yields. Canyon View High School (also known as CV and CVHS) was established in 1997 in Cedar City, Utah. Its mascot is the Falcon. The school colors are black, silver, and teal.
