Caythorpe Cricket Club
Caythorpe Cricket Club was founded in 1880. It is an amateur English Cricket Club based in the village of Caythorpe, Nottinghamshire. The club competes in the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board Premier League, which is an accredited ECB Premier League, winning the league title in 2006. The club has also reached the semi-final of the ECB National Club Cricket Championship in 2005 and 2006 and won the Derbyshire Premier League Cup in 2009. Caythorpe has four Saturday sides and a Sunday team, as well as many junior teams as part of its setup. The 1st XI compete in the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board Premier League, winning the title in 2006. The 2nd XI play in the Bassetlaw & District Cricket League and won 1st division in 2013, then getting promotion into the premier division for the 2014 season. Russell Warren (cricketer)
Russell Warren (born 10 September 1971) is an English cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman, a wicket-keeper and an occasional right-arm offbreak bowler. As a youth he toured New Zealand with England Young Cricketers in the 1990–91 season, playing two test matches and two one day internationals. He also played two youth ODIs against Australia the following summer, opening the batting with future county colleague Mal Loye. He made his first team debut for his home-county Northamptonshire in 1992, and played for the county in 109 first-class matches over ten seasons. During this time he made ten centuries, with a highest score of 201 not out, but only reached the landmark of 1000 runs in a season once; in 2001. Founded in 1875, Somerset was initially regarded as a minor county until official first-class status was acquired in 1895. Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century, and the club has always held first-class status. The current Kent County Cricket Club was formed on 6 December 1870 following the merger of two representative teams. Kent have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Ben James Phillips (born 30 September 1974) is an English cricketer who played for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club until his release in 2013. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium pace bowler. Career Phillips began his career at Kent, appearing for their Second XI regularly throughout the late 1990s. His made his first-class cricket debut for the club against Sussex early in the 1996 season, taking four wickets in the match. He failed to impress during the following match against Leicestershire, taking no wickets, and only made one more first-class appearance in the season. Despite scoring his maiden first-class century in 1997 against Lancashire and twice taking 5 wickets in an innings, he dropped out of the first-class game at the end of the 1998 season after 27 appearances for Kent. David Scott Lucas (born 19 August 1978) is an English first-class cricketer, who last played for Worcestershire County Cricket Club. He previously played for Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Northamptonshire. He won the NBC Denis Compton Award in 2000. Career A left-arm fast-medium bowler, he first played for Nottinghamshire Second XI in 1996 and made his debut for Nottinghamshire in first-class cricket in 1999. He played at Trent Bridge until 2003, although he was selected only for one day games in his latter two seasons. Seeking first-team cricket, Lucas moved to Yorkshire for the 2005 season, but failed to cement a place in the team. He played for Lincolnshire in the Minor Counties Championship in 2006, and then moved to Northamptonshire in 2007. Stephen John Randall (born 9 June 1980) is a former English cricketer. Randall is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Randall made his debut in List-A cricket for the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board against Scotland in the 1999 NatWest Trophy. Randall made his first-class debut for Nottinghamshire against Middlesex in the 1999 County Championship. Guy Welton (born 4 May 1978) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He played First-class cricket for Nottinghamshire, and also played for Lincolnshire, and Derbyshire's Second XI. Prior to beginning in first-class cricket, he played for Worcestershire's Second XI, debuting with a duck in an innings defeat against Surrey. He played extensively with the Second XI teams of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, and played his debut First-class match in 1997. Despite appearing early in his Second XI career as a tailend batsman, he began his first-class career as a powerful and sometimes high-scoring hitter. Gloucestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Gloucestershire. Founded in 1870, Gloucestershire have always been first-class and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The club played its first senior match in 1870 and W. G. Grace was their captain. The club plays home games at the Bristol County Ground in the Bishopston area of north Bristol. Northamptonshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Northamptonshire. Its limited overs team is called the Northants Steelbacks – a reference to the Northamptonshire Regiment which was formed in 1881. The name was supposedly a tribute to the soldiers' apparent indifference to the harsh discipline imposed by their officers. Founded in 1878, Northamptonshire (Northants) held minor status at first but was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship during the 1890s.
