Cavarzere (; vec, Cavàrzere) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Venice in the Italian region of Veneto, located about southwest of Venice. Neighbouring municipalities of Cavarzere are: Adria, Agna, Anguillara Veneta, Chioggia, Cona, Loreo, Pettorazza Grimani, San Martino di Venezze. Cavarzere is located on a plain crossed by the Adige and numerous canals. History Cavarzere dates from the pre-Roman age as a military outpost of the nearby town of ''Hatri''a, the future Adria. The etymology of Cavarzere is from the Latin ''Caput Aggeris'' because once was the only village in the area having an embankment system. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, it became a refuge for people escaping from barbarian invasion. Anguillara Veneta is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Padua in the Italian region Veneto, located about southwest of Venice and about south of Padua. The city is known for being the town of origin of the Bolsonaro family, a prominent Brazilian political clan. Chioggia (; vec, Cióxa , locally ; la, Clodia) is a coastal town and ''comune'' of the Metropolitan City of Venice in the Veneto region of northern Italy. The Treaty of Campo Formio (today Campoformido) was signed on 17 October 1797 (26 Vendémiaire VI) by Napoleon Bonaparte and Count Philipp von Cobenzl as representatives of the French Republic and the Austrian monarchy, respectively. The treaty followed the armistice of Leoben (18 April 1797), which had been forced on the Habsburgs by Napoleon's victorious campaign in Italy. It ended the War of the First Coalition and left Great Britain fighting alone against revolutionary France. The treaty's public articles concerned only France and Austria and called for a Congress of Rastatt to be held to negotiate a final peace for the Holy Roman Empire. In the treaty's secret articles, Austria as the personal state of the Emperor promised to work with France to certain ends at the congress.
