Much The Same
Much The Same is a punk rock band from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Their style is based on the fast, melodic skate punk of the mid-to-late 1990s made popular by bands such as NOFX, Lagwagon, and No Use for a Name. The band began in 1999 under the name Don't Look Down and changed to Much The Same in 2001 after a legal dispute with the now-defunct New Jersey band Don't Look Down. They released ''Quitters Never Win'' on A-F Records in 2003 and ''Survive'' in 2006. The band announced their break-up on April 23, 2007 following their first and only European tour. They reunited for a final farewell performance on March 26, 2011 at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago. The sold-out show featured both fan favorite songs and a few the band rarely, if ever, played live. Skate Punk
Skate punk (also known as skatecore and skate rock) is a skater subculture and punk rock subgenre that developed in the 1980s. Originally a form of hardcore punk that had been closely associated with skate culture, skate punk evolved into a more melodic genre of punk rock in the 1990s similar to pop punk. Since then, it has predominately featured fast tempos, lead guitar playing (including guitar riffs and guitar solos), fast drumming, and singing (sometimes including vocal harmonies). Gunner McGrath
Christopher Leslie "Gunner" McGrath (born September 29, 1978) is the American founder, lead singer, and guitarist of the punk rock band Much The Same. In April 2007, he quit Much The Same citing an overwhelming frustration with the music industry, and the lifestyle of a touring musician. From 2009 to 2011, he was part of the Willow Creek Community Church Studio Choir. On March 30, 2015, Much The Same reunited released their third album, ''Everything Is Fine'', in 2019. In July 2020, McGrath joined the band Winning Streak, and recorded vocals for their album, ''We Need a Plan''.
