Cathy Zimmermann
Austrian television host Cathy Zimmermann (originally Cathrin-Theres Zimmermann) was born on October 6, 1981, in Vienna, Austria. Life and career Zimmermann studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, before completing her degree at the Dolmetschinstitut Wien. While she was working towards her degree, she also studied dance for six years at the Prayner Konservatorium. She received her first television experience as a weather presenter in October 2005 at the private television station ATV. In 2007, Zimmermann was nominated at the Austrian Romy award as 'Shooting Star of the Year.' Apart from her work as a television host, Zimmermann also hosted the morning radio show at Radio Energy 104.2 and worked as a model. In April 2009 she changed to the Austrian national public service broadcaster ORF, where she got headhunted while an ATV program presentation. ATV (Austria)
ATV is the largest commercial television station in Austria, and was the first commercial station to be aired via transmitters after a long time when commercial broadcasts in Austria were only possible via satellite or cable and the national public broadcaster ORF held a monopoly of using the airwaves. According to the current broadcasting legislation in Austria, ATV has to be transmitted nationwide alongside the two public channels ORF1 and ORF2 via digital terrestrial television and satellite as well as all cable companies in Austria have to provide at least these three channels to their subscribers. Satellite broadcasts are encrypted as are the ORF channels but it is possible to watch ATV by using the decoding cards issued by ORF. Romy (TV Award)
The Romy television award in honor of the German-born and naturalized French actress Romy Schneider, born in Vienna, was created in 1990 by the Austrian newspaper ''Kurier'' – or rather their movie reviewer Rudolf John, who also designed the 30.5 cm gilded trophy. Radio Niederösterreich
Radio Niederösterreich is the regional radio for Lower Austria, and is part of the Österreich 2 group. It is broadcast by the ORF, and the programs from Radio Niederösterreich are made in the ORF Niederösterreich Studio. The radio is mostly heard by the 35+ age group and has a traditionally high listenership in Vienna. It mostly plays old hit-songs, as well as some international music. In the evening, Radio Niederösterreich produces a one-hour show focusing on folk music. Roman Rafreider (born 22 November 1969) is an Austrian television host and journalist. Life Rafreider studied political science and law in Vienna, Paris and Innsbruck. During his studies, he worked at different newspaper companies. He started his journalistic career in 1995 at the ORF-Landesstudio Vorarlberg, where he worked as an editor and radio host.
