Catholic Television Of Nigeria
Catholic Television Nigeria is a Catholic television network based in Abuja, Nigeria. It is intended to be used as a tool of evangelisation to deepen the faith of the Catholic faithful within and outside Nigeria. Though yet to acquire a standard TV channel, the Catholic Television is expected to provide all the Catholics the opportunity to evangelise in the future, using the electronic media to reach families in their homes. The Director of the Catholic Television Nigeria is Rev. Fr. Patrick Alumuku. Africa Independent Television, also known by its acronym AIT, is a privately owned television broadcaster in Nigeria. It operates Free To Air in Nigeria as the largest privately operated terrestrial television network with stations in twenty-four out of thirty-six states in Nigeria. AIT is also broadcast via satellite television from its operational headquarters in Abuja. AIT is a subsidiary of DAAR Communications plc, available throughout Africa, and via Dish Network to North America. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, it was available on Sky UK, Sky channel 454 as a free-to-air channel (originally a subscription channel until 1 August 2016). John Onaiyekan
John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan (born 29 January 1944) is a Nigerian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He was Archbishop of Abuja from 1994 to 2019 and was made a cardinal in 2012. He has served as president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria and Bishop of Ilorin. Education and early career Onaiyekan was born in the town of Kabba, in what is now Kogi State, to Bartholomew and Joann Onaiyekan. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Kabba from 1949 until 1956, Mount St. Michael's Secondary School in Aliade, Benue State, from 1957 until 1962, and Ss. Peter & Paul Major Seminary in Bodija, Ibadan, from 1963 until 1965.
