Catharina Van Rees
Catharina Felicia van Rees (22 August 1831-1 April 1915) was an author, editor, and composer. She wrote novels about the lives of composers and edited a collection of "Dutch Authoresses" to use the language of the time. She wrote her novels under the pseudonym Celéstine. She favored the education of Dutch women and for women to show their talents "into the light and let it shine forth." That stated the Dutch aspect of this was important to her as well and she was willing to include male writers if not enough Dutch women writers were available. She is also of some interest in the History of South Africa as she wrote the National anthem of the Transvaal The "Volkslied van Transvaal" ( en, "National Anthem of the Transvaal") was the national anthem of the South African Republic, also known as the Transvaal Republic, written and composed by Catharina van Rees in 1875. Zutphen, Netherlands
Zutphen () is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It lies some 30 km northeast of Arnhem, on the eastern bank of the river Ijssel at the point where it is joined by the Berkel. First mentioned in the 11th century, the place-name appears to mean "south fen" ( in modern Dutch). Velp is a Dutch village located east of Arnhem within the municipality of Rheden, between Arnhem, Rozendaal, and the town of Rheden. Velp was a separate municipality from 1812 to 1818, when it was merged with Rheden. The municipality also included the village of Rozendaal.
